yes there was a problem with v17 and early v18 for SG, now ok can safely update and eventually root with usual method.

They say better ram management but i feel it a bit (perhaps an impression) laggy at times

anyone got EBR1, EBR2, scatter files and know how to partition redmi back to sg 2.11gb internal and 0.90gb phone storage ?

thanks. anyway, it's because i increased my internal storage from 2.11gb (original) to 2.98gb. My Phone storage left 62mb. but everything is saved to my microSD card.

Needing help to know how i can revert back the partitions. One resolution i can think of is flash tool, but no flashtool files for SG redmi yet. Don't know where i can get it or when it will be released.

there's a long way, but too tedious. hwz experts help.

anyone knows how to resolve this?

Yes maybe to resolve the left over bug from ver18. Just updated during lunch time, so far so good.

according to the miui forums there were some bugs with v18, gallery/vid issue and chinese msgs appearing.

prob v19 will fix that.

i finally rooted my redmi with v19, following the miui thread instructions.

either the instructions were a little off, or things have changed a bit. anyway, its rooted so whatever

I tried rooting v19 but second part failed as i cant get into TWRP mode .It keeps booting into normal recovery mode.
What did i missed ?

been using Redmi 1S for almost a month, so far the experience with it is pretty good overall.
UI works smoothly around it, except that the low RAM might kill some background-running apps that you want it to run though clearing RAM would solve that issue but isn't that common after the recent v35 update.

Of course, Redmi 1S and Mi3 are two complete different device, of which 1S is an affordable smartphone whilst the Mi3 is a power smartphone at a low price tag.

Remove battery after flashing TWRP, do not reboot. Put back battery and go to recovery mode again and TWRP should be there.

I know there was a can't receive sms from banks issue. It was fixed in 16, right?

generally it seems laggy

I feel like I'm going to downgrade to v16 which was perfect to me
