Hmm, didn't know they remove the ROM download for SG. Anyway, it is still available for download, use the following URL:

Because i face this as well. There is no solution or workaround. Even if u call ur mobile provider, they will ask u to restart phone and try again.

Xiaomi would know how bad is MTK. hence even if they upgrade to kitkat or lollipop, it will be as bad.

if getting as a spare phone, must get redmi 2 enhanced version as both redmi 1s/redmi 2 are still available for sale. make sure you choose the correct version and model. good luck :)

so far any complaints from the new one ? I havent seen any from this thread yet.

They should provide delivery by normal mail for small item, paying $6.99 for a $1 item doesn't made sense! Not to mention, one need to be around to sign for it.

BTW, how much is the battery selling for normally?

Just bought Redmi 2 for my mum - this budget phone really exceeds my expectations and beyond.

The only downside is that i didnt get one for myself - :s13:

Upgraded RedMi to MIUI 6 successfully!
Took quite long, tested
1 visible bug, cannot change the locality from China to SG.
Not a big deal though
