Hair Loss

Use aminexil by Loreal to control hair loss and enable new hair growth. Go for scalp treatment by Loreal if you have oily scalp

Should I start on Procerin where Saw Palmetto 1500mg is the main catch?

Hi experts...

My stock of Procerin from USA has just arrived... I am wondering if I should start on the Procerin pills as they contain Saw Palmetto of 1500mg for daily servings...

Although it doesn't contain finasteride, saw palmetto at 1500mg daily has scientific backup that it does inhibit formation of DHT by inhibiting Type II alpha reductase activity on testosterone without changing the levels of testosterone...

Yet months back, HSA has releases news of increased risks of breast cancer in men whose DHT levels are being regulated due to Proscar and Propecia...

I am thinking if Procerin with Saw Palmetto actually will have increased risk as well...

How? The stock is here, but I am still holding on...

Advice?

Before hopping on to the bandwagon of finasteride aka Proscar or Propecia, do read the earlier few threads about HSA talking about increased risk of breast cancer from consuming finasteride...

It's real since it's from HSA right?

20+ , frontal region thinning hair

Propecia works well for many but must start when thinning.
Little left : hair transplant or wig.
But propecia is now associated with male breast cancer, so you may go less effective minoxidil first.

Without propecia for last 5 years, I will pay 1/2 price at barber by now.

let assume the data is accurate. still, breast cancer is pretty low risk among man. also the date is taken from proscar(5mg) user while most hairloss patient is using 1mg or lower(0.7mg for myself:s7:)

there are strong data that suggest finasteride lower risk of prostate cancer/problem for man. so the question is do you want to lower the risk of low risk male breast cancer or number 1 cancer for man? further more, while keeping hair have no doubt increasing self-confidence which might get you a potential mate(wife) and life quality. data suggest a married man have higher life expectancy. so what the take?

in TCM the saying goes 是药三分毒. i not saying there is totally very little risk in using finasteride which i have debate with fellow users on this thread sometime back which claim so. but the risk is acceptable in my personal view to improve my life quality. yes, you can choose to do nothing for your hairloss if you are cool about it which i have friends that not only accept it but using it as a joke to break-ice. but for those that need time or still want to keep what you have, finasteride is a pretty good choice. infact, one of the best we have consider current treatment.

my point is, don't be afraid to cross the road just because of risk in knocking down by car if you need to cross:s16:

sad to say no. Merck are not making much out of propecia consider the amount spend on FDA trial as well as Rogaine for Pfizer. hairloss drugs are not really a money tree. one have to understand that they can only charge high price while others still buy from them is during the active patent period(17years). after that, generic version will start appearing and there goes their sales. in other word, they have limited time to cash back on the amount they spend and make a profit. their sales have been rather lackluster. this might be one of the reason why there is nothing much new appearing in the market even so many years after propecia other then technical difficultive.

why is Avdart not in phase 3 other then the corny one done in korea that claim to be yet lacking in the amount of subjects and time frame. could that be the reason RU58841 is being shelf?

we might never know but high chance.

sorry to say that but i highly suspect you have commercial interest after reading through all your post. i might be wrong. you might just be promoting something that work for you:s13:

anyway, aminexil is have been out in the market long enough to prove itself if it work. sadly, that not the case. you won't mind i say that if it does not affect your pocket;)
