check the link above. a pretty old study. but helpful for those getting proscar yet worry about not getting a daily accurate dose.
to sum up. the study show that a consistent dose of 0.2mg daily eventually more or less equal to the effect of 5mg on DHT serum. it is due to this study that i decide to cut my proscar into into 7parts.
FYI. in japan, propecia come in 0.2mg and 1mg version![]()
but where do you get them and at how much?http://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/article/dmpk/25/2/208/_pdf

Secret remedies( egg white or ginger)=more hairloss
yours certainly taste better then mine

yesterday one of my colleague buzz his hair down. at the back of his head we notice there is one strip of missing hair. someone asked him is it part of the hair cut. he told us it is due to hair transplant to the fontal part. not everyone understand the concept of hair transplant and so i explained things to them. i didn't ask him much as he might not be comfortable with it infront of others. well, we have to be as sensitive to balding people. only those suffer from it will understandwill find a chance to do it sometime. i believe if i mention to him i am on medication for hairloss he will properly open up.
he is in his early 30s. pretty bad overall diffuse thinning. i not sure if the transplant actually help him to look better or not in this case. but other then the scar behind, the fontal area does not look too unnatural to me. he mention he did it quite sometime back but didn't specific a time so i guess from the conversation it about 6months or so.
a few things was mention in the short exchange. he did it in singapore and cost about 2-3K. from the way he told us about the ops, it sound like FUE. about half of the transplant hair survive according to him.
again, i didn't have chance to discuss much yet therefore these are some of my personal observation.
i asked him why did he buzz his hair down which make his scar obvious. the scar is about the width of a pinkie finger right across the back of the head. he said with his thin hair, a buzz cut will appear better. it does not make sense to me. if he is going for the buzz cut, why go for transplant at the first place. i not sure what his doctor advice and his hair condition at the point of transplant as we have no idea of the time frame.
overall, he have a pretty good donor area from what i notice. but since he is having pretty bad overall thinning, i don't really get the idea of transplanting to the fontal area while having a buzz cut. not only the scar is showing but it look ridiculous horrible as his thinning continue to get worst. in the end, he will be left with a patch of transplant hair in the front while other area thin out. i not expert, but i do think either he spend more for a full proper transplant, buzz it down or just simply use concealer for the time being.
not sure if he is taking any other treatment. but i sure he is on something since he have come to the point of transplant. will be interesting to discuss with him. i wonder is he on this forums![]()
mostly maintain. no further loss for the last 5years or so.
therefore i always advice to use finasteride as early and consistent as possible. the longer you are sitting on problem, the more hair is going to be lost. for finasteride think maintain and if there is any regrowth, that a bonus.
i not sure for your case. it seem you are badly affected by the scare monger out there. there is a double blind study i read once before showing how great the placebo effect of finasteride can be if patient are fed with information of it side effect compare to another group which was not told. honestly, in your state i not sure if you should really take it.
. i believed u have read up the function of dht which finas inhibit.
hmm since u r able to maintain yr hair with a portion of a pill, why not try to increase yr dose? for e.g half of a pill? maybe u would be able to regain yr hair?
on my part
ya n i agree i m not ready to take it. i believed u have read up the function of dht which finas inhibit.
i dont believe nothing will happen even if one doesnt feel any side effects .
For e.g some ppl with certain illness do not realise they have the illness until its too late? why? because they have never experience any symptoms or they disregard minor symptoms until its too late.
My point is sometimes u cant judge how yr body is reacting based on yr own judgements.![]()
