scientifically proven that the balding gene comes mostly from your mother. so look at your mom's side of the family and rely on the information more.

one good way to know if you really have mpb is to observe your front hairline, most if not all mpb have receding hairlines. but dont fret too much, sometimes, its just the genetic material that codes your hair. if you have a family history of thin hair (NOT hair thinning) then chances are you may inherit that gene as well. thin hair is NOT hair thinning.

cheers.
not true. hair thinning gene can come from either side or even from both.

sometime your parent might not even be balding.

anyone taking Noxidil Minoxidil ? so which one is better, propecia or noxidil minoxidil?? the latter is for regrowth and propecia is to prevent and regrowth? am i right?? and oral taking of minoxidil, is it safe?

you are talking about minoxidil and propecia(finasteride) is it?

minoxidil is for topical application. it does not stop the balding process but more like offsetting it. you can take minoxidil orally but it is a drug with serious side effect so i don't suggest it.

finasteride is use to stop one of the factor of balding. reduce DHT in your body which is responsible for male balding. therefore it might result in stopping, slowing of hairloss include some possible regrow.

hi, for the adapter, you can either send it back for replacement. IIRC, it still under one year so still have warranty. but you have to pay for the shipping. so i will suggest you buy one with similar spec which i think will be cheaper and save time. don't think it hard to get.

congrat on passing your TP!!! i still have about 1month to go before i can take down my P-plate. haha... have not being driving regularly lately as it horrible expensive to drive. thinking of getting class 2b.

good choice for getting it online. it should be cheaper oversea.

there a place selling in singapore. it cost a whopping 82buck for a 60ml bottle which will last you about 1-2months depend on usage.

if you order oversea like 3bottle, it should cost slightly below 60buck with shipping.

good luck and keep us update if you are using it.

sorry, i didnt phrase my stuffs properly. it is infact true that most of the balding genes come from your mom's side of the family. it is genetically, scientifically proven. although, you are right in saying that the gene can come from both side of the family.

How would you know whether your thinning hair is due to DHT, nutrition or genes? Do you have to ask a dermatologist to check?

No I have not gone to any dermatologist yet, but by the pattern of my hairloss ( receding on both sides, 'M' ) I'm sure I'm suffering from MPB.

i have a question, hopefully someone will be able to answer..

i have scalp problem since age of 17. till now i am 26, that means this problem has already happened nearly 10 years! I have painful red pimple-like scalp since 17. Whole scalp is full of pimples with breakouts on the scalp!

Now I dont know whether the pimples or was it the mpb that is the cause of my thinning problem. I visit NSC since NS days, but all the dermatologist did was to prescribe me with tetracyclines. In fact, I have taken tetra, doxy, and minocycline before. Only recently, the dermatologist prescribe me with something start with ecer..... In just 2,3 days, the whole pimples on my scalp all subside, with no breakouts at all.

Now I start look at my scalp sometimes, still got some reddish parts to be found on my scalp, that means to say still some pimples but better than 9 years ago.

I really have no idea if it is mpb or the pimples problem. So will taking propecia still helps? The dermatologist always like dont know anything. If they know, they already did something to my scalp since NS days when i start coming for the appointments.

Is there someone knowledgeable to advise what is my real problem? or is there anyone have the same scalp problem with me? what can be done to maintain healthy scalp?

I was feeling sad though recently, that i took my whole body for granted, now i really regret it.

Guys, i'm in need of some advice.

The past month 1 n half month was a hell of a time for me, the amount of hair drop during shampooning has increased drastically. B4 is like just a few like 2 or 3 on my hands(not counting the ones that got wash away), but now is more than 10. And when the hair is wet, the scalp is freaking obvious, and it scares me every time.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my problem is not MPB, as my thinning or hair loss applies to my whole scalp, esp the crown. My gp also stated it might not be MPB becos i do not have the initial stage of receding hair line. He also checked my scalp and said it's normal, and i don't have itchy scalp. What do u guys think?

I'm planning to see NSC soon for test after i got a referral letter from polyclinic. This sudden hair loss has hit me really hard, i'm really at my wits end. I tried to tell myself to cheer up, saying that my condition will improve... But when i face the mirror during bathe time with my hair wet... my heart broke. Sorry if i sound like a fool.

Anyone has the same condition as me? I have oily scalp and premature whitening. I hope to get some advice here b4 i go NSC, hopefully someone here might have the same condition as me and wish to share some experience.

Thank you.

actually, 10 strands of hair dropped hair from shampooing is still quite okay. dont worry too much yet. some people just have naturally thin hair. their hair starts to get thinner as they grow older, however, they will still have a full head, just lesser and thinner hair. its genetically determined.

Ya i have natural thin hair, but my hair used to be quite thick. I know 10+ strands may not be that much, but I'm just afraid it might escalate into something worst. I read something about the hair cycle, where new hair will replace the fallen hair. But from what i observed for the past month, they r not been replaced. Is there anyone whose hair loss is due to scalp problem(not MPB), and after treatment managed to get back the usual thickness?

I read from a forum that some of their condition improved after taking a health supplement, Pilfood - https://www.mypharmacy.com.sg/ShopFront/ProductPage.aspx?ProdSKU=993480028F&CatID=208
(Pls do not quote me on this) Anyone here tried this b4?
