Does anyone experience Hair Regrowth besides stopping hairloss after taking propecia alone?
How long can we see positive results after taking propecia?
Anyone can share their success story after taking propecia?

Hairloss reduced after 7-8 mth, at 1 year, seem to be losing effectiveness.

No hair regrowth, just slow down hair loss.

Hair feeling thinner now, feel like stopping propecia.

Just like to share my findings after 6 months.

Started Propecia for one month Between Jun-Jul 09. Hairloss did not reduce. Too Pricy when I get from clinic (108 + consultation) but luckily i claimed from company.

Started Proscar (Split 1 into 4) Between Mid-Jul 09 till Nov. . Same period of time Nizoral was in used.

3rd month Observed after above :
Forgetfulness.
Unable to Errect (But good news is i realise without craving for sex, i am happier.)
Hair regrowth almost fully.

After stopping on Nov 2009. one month later, my errection got back. I am waking up everyday with my stick. I feel such a trouble. I am eating proscar back to reduce my hornyness which i suspect is the cause of hairloss

I have 3 boxes of proscar till 2011. anyone interest, pls pm me.

If propecia doesnt work on u?
Why didnt you think of going for hair transplant?
Btw, does taking propecia improve the scalp condition like reducing oilyness?

Of course! At least for me:D

So after taking propecia, your hair condition can only maintain at what it was without getting any regrowth?
Besides taking propecia, did you apply minoxidil too?
Do you have any side effects like difficulty in erection after taking propecia?
I just started taking for about 10days but no side effects yet..

Doctor says wit until hair loss gets worse then only do; otherwise may end up with uneven hair look.

Don't know if it's propecia but my scalp feels cleaner and less oily.

the DHT does cause an extra activity of the sebum glands

so if DHT is controlled, the sebum will oso be reduced..

I just like to provide some kind advice as i have read that many had tried many method without much improvement.

I suggest the below few items first so that you can see if it help reduce your hairloss. This help to reduce your cost.

1. Nizoral (Guardian pharmacy) Twice weekly. Leave on for 5 minutes before washing away.
2. Nettle Oil Shampoo (Body shop). Daily if Nizoral is not used. Nettle oil is one of the DHT blocker (google online)
3. Proscar (I have personally used Propecia for 1 months and i can't comment if propecia work well as the dosage is slightly lower compare to breaking proscar into 4)

Wash your hair maximum twice a day only. Once only is best at night if you can (Can't comment to you what i suspect)

Clear your mind off sex and work after office hour. Reduce your stress. sleep at least 8-9 hours.

I have stopped Proscar for 2 months and working on meditation instead. It help to reduce stress and provide good sleep. Everything seem fine. If you need some advice on meditation, you can seek a good teacher. But i did it on my own as i am studying buddhism.

Lastly, Do not worry. Be happy... life is uncertain, but death is certain.

My scalp was previously oily every morning i wake up in the past. It appear heavy and oily. After consuming proscar for the 3rd month, the oilyness seem to disappear by half. That include my facial oil.

Nizoral make the hair dry. But the pharma doc advise only to use twice a week. And the quantity use should be about one 10cent coin.

Nettle oil shampoo is another DHT inhibitor.

I advise to use the 3 together and see the effect after 3-4 months. Have some patience instead of keep changing the shampoo.

There is no magic. Even hair transplant take a year to see a full effect.

As suggested again, try to reduce washing your hair. Slowly cut down to once a day will do.

Due to my oily scalp, I usually need to wash my hair twice..in the morn and night..
Does washing your hair twice will worsen the hair condition?
If Nizoral can prevent my scalp getting oily , i might want to try it!
Btw, where can i buy the Nizoral shampoo?
I cant find it at Guardian or Watson..Pls advise..thks.

Hi constantine,

Suggest you to try a few others guardian stores at the pharmacy corner. Ask the staff as it is kept behind.

I believe it is likely your dht or hormones level. Perhaps you should try proscar to control it first. Wash hair cleanly but once only is my opinion. Just like facial, the more times you wash per day, the worst it get.

Regards

hi kenneth27,

im already using Nizoral twice a week. using some hair thinning shampoo but scalp still very oily.

I too believe it's due to hormomes.

Have just purchased 5% minoxidil and ordered some saw palmetto (in place of prosca/propecia) cos afraid of side effects...

Wanna get some feedback on those who tried Saw palmetto before.

then does the nettle oil shampoo really work as well>?
