Oh man. Did you talk to your friend about the potential side effects and is he aware that propecia might be causing them?
I know exactly how it felt to have severe muscle weakness, mood swings and all.
The feeling's terrible. Does your friend have problems with speaking articulately/expressing his thoughts well? Or in general, unable to think clearly, like his brain has this permanent fog?
The side effects
will get worse. Your friend's been on it for only a year and he's already getting all the sides in almost full force. Any longer, who knows what's gonna happen. It took me about 2 years before i started noticing the sides. Not just a weaker libido, but muscle weakness/body fatigue/ brain fog.
I find it alarming that people are not concerned at all about the sides you mentioned - their only concern is whether propecia works. That is sad. A lowered libido is not the only potential side effect. Let me say it in another way: finasteride has the potential to mess with not only your dick, but your mental well being and overall health. If that's not scary, i don't know what is.
I've said it before in a previous post but it seems like people still want to stay optimistic. Go read up online about what DHT does in the body. Here's
one link. I should add that the site is not some sort of anti-propecia propaganda site.
Let me quote some bits of info from there:
"DHT is still very important for the full performance enhancement effects from testosterone. What I specifically mean here are the effects of DHT on the central nervous system, which lead to increased neurological efficiency (strength), and increased resistance to psychological and physical stress - not to mention optimal sexual function and libido"
Gynecosmastia = male boobs
"Some men that take Proscar learn this the hard way – by developing a case of gynecomastia. By reducing DHT’s protection against estrogen in the body, these men have fallen victim to its most dreaded ramification – bitch tits!"
I've dropped propecia for 3 months already. I can see that i'm losing ground already, won't be long before all the hair i've maintained on propecia falls out, then it'll be quite a sight. But i'd rather be bald than not feel like a 100% male.
