Depends on how you wind and movement as well....some fast wind (as in you turn fast) like 8 times for newer movement 3285 will move already....older movement chiu wind 15-20 times then it moves....if chiu wind slow action type of cos will take 40 winds then start moving

or if chiu shake teh watch lightly it should also move already...for daytonas it’s normal to wind over 20 turns before it starts moving or even 30 if teh power reserve has completely deplete

My Daytona starts up with one turn.

Ya sia...it used to be around 10 times then start moving already. My other watch 5-15 times range.

Brought it to RSC to fix for 2 weeks then collected it before the lockdown started. Ask the lady what’s the actions taken then she say they have replaced some parts.

Brought it home and after observing it for weeks it still requires 25-38 winds then start moving. Took some videos as evidence this time. Guess i’ll need to bring it back to them after lockdown ended.

how you wind?
really depends on your action of winding.
did you do a full turn of the crown?

i wind 3-4 times full round the second hand move liao. but of course the PR not full, just enough for it to start moving
even for my vintage sub, same thing, 6-10 winds?

he meant start. not 1 time full PR done.

tsk. you're losing it liao. the troll level not high enough

which part chiu dun understand ? He says he can start teh Daytona wif hi 1 turn or rather 1 wind so I asked him to show a video of starting it wif 1 wind turn. But before doing that make sure teh watch PR is fully depleted by resting it for say maybe 3 days. Haf notch seen Daytona can start moving after PR depleted wif 1 turn before so his video can enlighten us how he wind

Perhaps need to define the “turn”.

I dunno how everyone else winds their watches, but I do it by running my index finger along the crown. Like the crown is a wheel and my finger is the road.

One turn for me means crown meets finger where the nail starts, rolls along until slightly beyond the 2nd joint (before the knuckle).

The second hand WILL start moving.

The same goes for my Patek. But my Lange needs more.

Anyway, I won’t start a YouTube channel just for this.

 are you serious. winding like that puts immense force on the winding stem, and it's usually not recommended.

1 wind = half crown.

I usually wind it with my thumb placing on the bottom crown guard and move it until it hits the top of crown guard. Then this considered as 1 wind.

How you guys wind it? I think everyone should be doing the same as what i’m doing?

I always think Rolex winding is very smooth and require minimal winds. My wife's DJ just require like maybe 5-6 winds and the second hand start turning. My B&R and TH needs like 20+ winds and not as smooth as Rolex.
