Now it seems to me, yes, she is not “influential” enough in the organisation to seek for an allocation for you. And after you spend so much, she feel pai seh that she might be leading you on further by selling the Hublot to you and not able to get you the Rolex allocation and hence maybe that’s why she asked you to get the Hublot from another boutique. That’s a potential deduction on my side of why she appear reluctant to sell the Hublot to you as she is not confident to help you get the Rolex allocation after you specify that you would like to use the Hublot as ”bundle request” to get Rolex allocation
From what i gather from SA, the models i wanted are high in demand. If Its TT DJ41 and below is no issue. Sports model will have to wait after any kind of DJ.

Its really funny how someone else money is worth more than mine even though spent the same amount. What a funny world

The “seniority” of the SA is quite critical. Cos the exco when considering submissions for approval will assess (1) the value and brands/models of purchase (2)the SA who submitted the application
SA if not confident about getting approval will not make the submission.
Hence you get this situation of “someone else money is worth more than yours even though spent the same amount”.

grey prices is more reasonable nowadays wen you can pay a minor premium and you dont have to spend time, efforts & $$$ to build "profile" which ur request is not guaranteed

I prefer the difficult route instead of easier way out. Before entering the game, alrd told myself the limit will be 6 digits at AD to "experience their life and greed". If it fails, its actually a very good biz model for me to invest in their shares.
Grey prices are ok. More of wanting to experience how does things work at AD.

Just to add you could have bought 30-40k as example.. but if the watches were discovered to be sold within a short duration , you will be red or black flagged.. it’s bye bye to any allocation. Problem is Junior sa will not tell you about this.
Why will red flag sia. Give business then kena red flagged lol

What is the configuration of the dj41? As in what dial? Could be the demand is very high for the piece you asked.
I was going for a white or blue dial fluted bezel. Most people said it should be ok so that's why I'm puzzled. I did not sell any of the other watches as I don't buy if I don't intend to wear them so I'm quite sure I'm not blacklisted. My SA is a senior based on his title and I was under the impression that he's more inclined to help his vip customers. It's just sad that I see so many new watches in the grey market that prob would come from these people and others who spend money to build a profile cant get anything.

Honestly with all that hassle, groveling up to AD, why not just go grey?
most people assume get first allocation after buying shitter = vip = no need buy anymore shitter to pair

problem is, everytime you want something from the AD, the AD want something back from you.
2 way street.

because they can spend in a long run, like keep buying.
are you able to keep up? or you just a hit and run transaction?
i know people spending 6-7 figures yearly.

this is not about transactional value, it's customer value liao. if i am SA i also will aim big fish aka loyal customers who have followed me for a long time, spending with me.
if there's only 1 location of daytona ceramic, you think i will give to my loyal customer or give to a new customer?

The blue dial you are talking about is the Azzuro Blue or the Bright Blue? If it’s the Bright Dlue dial DJ 41, it is an application model, much higher in demand and criteria to be allocated one. The White Dial is less popular than the Blue, but very limited pieces per year to the boutique, something like a piece in a year, maybe two max. The Silver and Azzurro Blue is more common among the SS DJ 41.
if your SA is senior, then there should be something he can do. Have a chat with him to find out more, there are sometimes other reasons which they will not tell you upfront

After some contemplation I think I would like to play the AD game rather than going grey. Because I do have interests in getting other watches as well. Thinking of THG. What are the brands I should start off with to build a profile that eventually leads me to a 124270 or a 124060?

Honestly, I would rather get watches I like such as Speedmaster/Seamaster Diver series. I know that Tudor sports are not counted into the profile building exercise but is it possible to buy Omega in order to be considered for Explorer or ND Sub? I have little to no interests in Hublot. But following the posts here, seems like it is a prerequisite? Any way to circumvent around Hublot? And roughly what is the total amount to be spent to be considered for ND Sub or Explorer 1?

if it is ND sub or explorer 1, going grey is so much cheaper

rough estimate, i might be wrong.

wanna get patek, buy their ugly pilot traveltime or twentyfour
Unless you want aquanaut or nautilus, or become vvip to get one of the unique pieces, or must have your name on the original paper. For patek no point going AD. Almost every model other than nautilus or aquanaut can get at grey for 10-40% discount.

Omega can but don't expect any discount for allocation.
And usually it's harder because ad have no issue selling omega.

Speedy prices outside are like maybe 10% cheaper.
Seamaster is about 20-25% cheaper. Sometimes 30%
Explorer. Buy grey cheaper.
Sub ND. Long queue, everyone wants one. If someone buys a house brand to get allocation vs you getting an omega, he will get first for sure.
Thg is all about hublot and UN. No other way around it.

Yes, if playing the AD game, must mentally prepare yourself that things may not go the way u expected (both negative and positive). Recently read quite a few bad google review on THG/WOS as well as hearing from some of the ppl.
Ultimately its a business to them, not a hobby or collection to them. Ultimate winner is AD. Not consumer or big watch brands.

Bad google reviews happens all the times to merchants, even Michelin 3 stars restaurants gets it.
I think if you compare THG with others, the overall Google review ratings on Cortina and KHH was even lower compared to THG. You can read all about it. Bad reviews at ADs happens because of misalignment in expectations. People always will compare, they see others getting their allocations earlier and they got upset, asking why the favourtism showed to other customers. ADs cannot openly tell customers what is the system like for getting an allocation. It is up to customers to experience the process and on the way, get a sense and understanding how it is all being done.
I may risk sounding particularly defending AD, but I would say nothing wrong in the way they conduct this business.
I still feel it’s a rewarding experience to consumers via AD route. But as I mentioned before, it really depends on priorities and preferences. Getting from grey can be an equally rewarding experience as well.
All the best!
