They got a white dial piece available in the boutique to try on. Somehow the dial looks more silver than white to me. I prefer the black

I’m not particularly keen on AP. And required to buy the Diver or Code first before can possibly be considered an allocation of the RO. I’m not a fan of either model.
Get the offshore? It’s an iconic watch after all. As a collector, should Have at least one ro/roo

Offshore got some nice designs too. Can I ask, if the AP boutique will sell me an Offshore as my first AP or also have to get the Diver or Code first?

go ask them, usually offshore is ok
but you won't get the blue dial variant of RO, black/silver ok
but the offshore price retard - 60k+ not worth it at all

Yup.. for a stainless steel watch it’s not worth it.. plus it’s quite flimsy when u wind it..😂

So it’s true that they will interview customers at AP boutique. Today the sales person told me this when I visit the Vacheron Constantin boutique. I was a bit sceptical that they will go to this extent, so it is true from your experience.

So you decide to give up that ROO allocation? Did your SA give you a deadline to consider?

Someone told me the ROO is not durable (as compared to the RO) and requires fairly frequent servicing. Is it true?

However , if anyone don’t mind a new ROO from bonti , I can buy under my profile with you accompany down to AP. (yes I know what ya all thinking don’t flame me ) .

They have to let you know which model before you can decide whether you like it or not, isn’t it? Or why not you go down to take a look? I’m sure if you decide on the spot that you doesn’t want to take it because the allocated model just doesn’t appeal to you, it should be ok right?

Haha I just went to the boutique and put my name for the Dual Time black dial. I asked him blue dial and black dial how long it takes. He say blue dial 5-8 years and black dial 3-5 years. He say I’m considered a bit late to enter “the game” as the number of people putting their name for Overseas had gone up significantly in 2022 till now and they are now starting to clear for customers who put their name in 2021 and the wait for customers who put their name in 2022 would lengthen and even more so for those in 2023. Haha
Haha when I put my name for the blue dial dial time in Oct 2022 it’s 3 years wait.

Half true. They don’t really need frequent servicing. I sent mine befor warranty ended and they upgraded the movement which was a factory directive. Never had any issues with the watch. But what I observe is, perhaps the local service competency isn’t that great. The watch came back feeling abit weird imo. If you wind the watch, you would find it not as solid as Rolex or patek..heard of a few cases of new pieces crown falling off when unwinded. It’s that kind of feeling. The finishing is great but the movement I feel kinda lacking in sturdiness?

I more or less decided to give up regardless of what ROO model as I’m still waiting for my first Patek Allocation 5226G . It was love at first sight for that model that stood a realistic chance to get for my first PP . I got limited bullets sad .
