Lol, i have to admit i dont follow any of their recommendation.

On a side note, last weekend there is a Yacht-master 40mm in RG on sale. The AD called me. Anyone keen? I can help ask.
Just some further sharing on date change tolerance @ RSC.

Need some opinion. Now that the price of a BN Explorer 2 is pretty similar to a Sub with Date, which is a better investment?

with the intention to sell next time? If yes, Sub is a safer bet. if you have no intention to sell, then get one that you like.

Yes, you can go to RSC to buy. No need to service. Just say outright you need more links. They will sell it to you as long as your watch is authentic. If no stock you will need to wait.

Hi all!

May i check is it possible to get hold of a set of 5 digit sub hand set locally besides ebay?

Part numbers:
15-88332 second hand
14-88609 hour/minute

Would like to swap out my Blue OP36 hands with the mercedes hands. Seems like a good looking combination. Any watchmakers to recommend for the swap job?

Thanks in advance guys!!

Making of the blue explorer i see.....

Well, ebay will be the only way, but but but.... there are after market hands which the seller may pass off as genuine, so beware.

In this case, better to buy aftermaket parts. Low cost and not many people can tell (unless you look via the loupe)

If you want, you can pick up an explorer dial as well. =:p

from the RRP stated on Rolex website, what is the usual % increase if buying from AD?

RRP for Submariner and Explorer 2 are SGD10,600 and SGD11,150 respectively

AD must sell you maximum at RRP. Nothing above. It's the grey dealers that mark up.

So you either pay grey dealers their markup and get the watch immediately, or wait for the watch to become available at the AD and pay RRP.

thx for sharing, first time buying and want to do more research.:)

So the RRP is the maximum price AD can sell and should not expect them to sell even at a dollar lower (unless there is prior buying relationship, etc)

Explorer 2 and Submariner are popular models, if going through AD, so will need to be put in queuing list or build up relationship by buying other watches, correct?

No nid to think maximum price or wat by AD. AD price for sports model all retail price fixed...

unlikely chiu can getch sub without history at AD...maybe explored 1 can followed by explorer 2 after being on their fake “waitlist”

Explorer 2 should be much easier to get than a Sub.

You can try putting your name on the "lists". But don't expect much. My name has been on the "lists" of multiple AD's since 2016 for a steel Daytona (any colour). I'm still waiting, but I've been wearing my grey dealer Panda for 3+ years already.

Of course I'm a nobody, and don't bother to do the usual suck up tactics, although the T3 Rolex staff know me by now since every time I fly, I walk in and ask the same question. Last few months pre-** don't even need to talk, walk past shop wave hand, and they will wave back "don't have".

dun mind me if my questions sound silly or noob, 1st time buying and trying to understand the whole process :)

thx for sharing! I always have the impression sub is more expensive than Explorer 2, but only found out today it is the other way round. i will try my luck with the 'waiting list' :)
