Hi all, I am looking to get a 5513 or a 14060. Will be my first venture into luxury watches so am not sure where to start. What are some of the few reputable second hand shops in SG that is worth popping by to take a look/enquire?

Also see some talk about recession coming. Is it worth to wait for prices to drop? Understand that prices of Rolexes in general are quite inflated now? Thanks in advance.

Sg won’t be short of people who will spend on luxury products. “Recession” will not cause price to drop.. prices are just going to continue rising as ever.

Curious too… is a dive into vintage sub territory alrd.. not exactly a conventional start into luxury watch or rolex..

I was never a fan of the sub until I first saw a no-date sub (which happened to be a 5513). Went to delve a little deeper and I settled between 5513 and 14060 for the following reason:
  1. I like the patina that develops on the hour markers and the hands of a vintage sub.
  2. I still can't decide whether I prefer a glossy or matte dial. I think this will eventually be the main determinant of which model I end up going for (assuming I can find both models in decent condition).
  3. Going anything earlier than 5513 is beyond my budget.
  4. Going for anything later than 14060 means tritium was no longer used and hence, no patina.
