Staying in this. Happy with it. Lots of reasonably priced eateries around.

Stayed in Mimaru for both osaka and tokyo during the last trip, but going end of this year, the price is just too exp, almost $600/night.

I stayed at hotel metropolitan tokyo ikebukuro about $140 a night which is a 4 stars hotel. I booked this price at 3 months ahead . For the same period if I have to book a decent hotel at shinjuku area. It will cost at least $180. Both prices did not include the breakfast

I got a small double room about 16m sqr. For the hotel guest. I paid 2500 yen for buffet breakfast. Nothing much fantastic. My review is can skip.

I find the WiFi network provided by in japan is generally very good. Unlike UK , Australia, NZ . It is quite bad and some even have to pay more to get the premium wifi network.

Which one? There's several in Tokyo with different prices.

At that time of the year, it's all around that price.. minimum is around $600/night

I just checked again, as i'm staying over the new year, the booking for next year is not opened yet.. but so far around $500+ a night for MIMARU TOKYO IKEBUKURO

Got it. Booked last year for $200 a night for this week. Prices have gone up. when I booked prices for different locations varied. Think it's across the board because of demand, tourism numbers went up a lot.

japan hotels normally only limited choice if so far ahead. more choices when 3-6 months ahead. but if the pricing is similar to what u see for that same hotel 3-6 mths ahead, then can go ahead to book first to secure it.

Checked again, early November is $300-330. If next trip materializes mostly will be outside of Tokyo. Tohoku maybe.

Unfortunately i'm going end Dec, staying over the new year.

I managed to find another hotel in Chuo city, close to Hatchobori for around $300+, not Mimaru standard but should be decent enough

Quite pointless to discuss price as it fluctuate a lot depending on the season and when you booked. Managed to book for May @ $80/night, but looking at it now, its about $240/night for the exact same dates, and about $200 in Sep.

Key is to book ASAP and try to find one that is fully refundable.

im staying at kimpton shinjuku managed to get my rates for first 3 nights. after that to extend is to expensive at $700+ a night. have to shift to ANA intercon for 3 or 4 nights ( if 3 nights will go yokohama just to stay at intercon pier 8 for a night ) then back to indigo shibuya. hotels pricing in tokyo really expensive.
