Agoda where got surcharge one? Its paid in sg currency leh. You go change your settings. Don't use the book now pay later. Pay now but use the one with free cancellation.

some hotel cant choose, auto got pay later. Even if you pay it now, the price is same not say cheaper.
When agoda charged to my DBS woman card, current rate that time for TWD is about 24.7 and my card exchange rate become 22. definitely got some hidden charges.

So wondering is it if wait for the book now pay later to auto charge by due date, if i choose to pay now instead, it will be what is shown in SGD? book now pay later, is in that country currency?

I always use pay now coz its charged straight to my cards as SGD. Initially I wanted to use pay later, but went to Reddit to read up and alot of pple KPKP how it was subsequently charged as foreign currency and the final price is much higher etc. Don't think they can force pay later on you; its usually on the 2nd last page b4 you make payment where you have to scroll to the payment option part and change it to pay now.

You need to change the currency to SGD in your setting. My prices are always displayed in SGD.

its in SGD, display in SGD. but when comes to charging to the card, it became the hotel's local currency, when BNPL. maxed out my card hence chose BNPL but can always prepay in may, if it makes a diff.

Travel to Tokyo next year 2026 during CNY week.

Any comments on the Shinagawa Prince hotel? Quite interested as there is a twin room (21msqr size ) for 2 adults with breakfast for $190.

Currently. Booked shibuya tobu for less than $170 per night. But then the breakfast selection is meh 😕. That why I don't mind staying in Shinagawa since I am going to use the Tokyo wide pass during the stay duration.

Location is good. I stayed more than ten years ago when their rating was better as some of towers were new. But 190 still a v good price. Usually the price is quite high when I check.

location is good, 5mins away from Shinagawa station
It's a popular hotel for group tours, so breakfast time will be crowded
The design is quite dated, feels classic imo lol. room is spacious compared to the ones nearer to central region

Thank for your info. I just booked it with free cancellation.

As long it is clean . doesn't matter the design is dated or not since most of the time I will be out for a whole day !

Planing to use Tokyo wide pass to go Nikko and yuzawa / karuizawa so stayed near Tokyo station is much slightly better rather than shibuya

Recently booked Ryumeikan Tokyo for early Apr 2026. Price seems to be very good value for the location (a few mins from Tokyo station north exit), room size (22m2), travel period and time of booking.

There is a Tokyu Stay Takanawa nearby to Shinagawa. The hotel is under 10 years old and most rooms have in room washer dryer. Closer to 200 dollars a night typically.

Thank for the recommendation 🙂!

I saw the listing and really not bad. Every room provided a dryer and microwave which is really good .
