that's why important to let kids who have uneven teeth to go through braces.

my family of about a dozen siblings all don't have uneven teeth, but somehow most of our kids all needed to go through braces.

They have to wear retainer for lifetime. If not teeth would be crooked again.

Notice sinkies kids have crooked teeth ..and their teeth always stained with plaque.I feel the kids have bad habits & poor oral hygiene

I don allow my kids to have pacifier...restrain kid from bitting nails , putting things in mouth to bite (bitting utensils after eating) , pushing their teeth when there r both adult n baby teeth, don let them eat hard candy, using fingers to touch their baby n adult teeth ... ...so far my teenage son teeth is straight.

Dental implant can use Medisave $1,950 per tooth, total cost can be at around $2, 400.00 if not using top of the range implant and crown. I have done 3, 2 years ago in singapore. I was quoted by Q&M $3,800.00. Q&M I think the price is decided by the dentist attending to you.

Think nowadays kids' oral hygiene generally OK due to more educated parents.

I also not sure why many kids have crooked teeth now as compared to the past.

My youngest niece now is 32 months into her braces and still not yet straighten.

She has over crowding teeth and so teeth all crooked. Removed 4 and started braces that usually takes less than 24 months to straighten. Her molars still refuse to move into alignment (and coming appt need to put some screws to use more force to pull them in place).

Total cost me about $6K with screws if needed will be extra charge of about $600.

-----------

mini screws:

"Screws used in braces are known as orthodontic mini-screws, mini-implants, or temporary anchorage devices (TADs). These small, titanium screws are temporarily inserted into the jawbone to provide a stable anchor point for applying controlled forces to move teeth. They are used in complex cases to achieve better alignment, close gaps, and guide tooth movement accurately, preventing the need for headgear and offering a stable alternative to bulky appliances. "

There shouldn't be any pain, other than the ant-bite discomfort of the anesthesia injection, if the dental specialist is a good one.

*with modern dental advancement, most if not all dental treatments should be relatively painless. If a dentist causes pain = one is likely in the wrong hands.

**I was so fearful of deep gum cleaning (infection due to receding gum) before I went for it. Was super surprised that the process was relatively painless.
I went for my wisdom tooth surgery during NS 1998. The syringe is abt 30cm. When she took out from the casing, i almst jump off from bed! N the injection itself is TMD, v v v v v painful. Lucky she quite pretty. Army dentist. At TAB (form form for tat camp). Arnd Apr-Jun98.

Cant b the technology is so advance till the made the syringe needle small n tiny?
When need to do, have to 硬着头皮上。

The pain that I 'imagined' in my head for deep gum cleaning, not even 1% of my imagination came true during the actual procedure.

Imagination is always powderful.
Hw much? Everyone can do? Good for normal cleaning even if i hav no gum issues?
See how much they want to bar fine u for both the xray and dental record results to take out.

Bring to msia for 2nd opinion. Take my word for it, its more economical
Need to go there hw many trips till actual operation? If msia, nd to think of the troubles crossing borders n queues in the clinic.
What are the cons of dentures? Now the usual recommendation is like root canal then implant.

What is considered hard? I like to snack on cashews and peanuts. Still have all my teeth, but the dentists warned me not to eat hard stuff liao.
Bro. Wat yr age? My teeth chip off arnd age 35-40s when eating groundnuts. Till nw i hav at least 5 chipped teeth.
I was also under the impression that the implants would be permanent and would not fall off.

You need to do the many sessions of exhausting bone grafting if you don’t have enough bone to support the implants.

Dentists are now in the same category of car salesmen & property agents trying to earn more money for their dream cars and landed houses.
Is there any X rays or checks to determine if we hav enug bone for support implants?
My friend's front tooth chipped off. Queried on the implant in JB and was quoted around MYR13000.
Bro, u typed wrongly? 13000 is 13k lei. Somemore RM?
9/10 people with uneven teeth alignment do not brush properly and hence their teeth conditions are no good.
Nd to do flossing aft brushing.

I already had 3 implants (2 molar 1 incisor), my 4th implants (incisor) in Dec, my 4th anchor already drilled in around Aug2025, waiting 4mth for the bone growth around it for strong grip.

Painless mostly, the only pain I got was from the 3 anesthetic needle poking before the implants to make my jaw numb.

My second dentures for incisor, without dentures I can't bite noodles and veggies, or cut meat into slices.

Most pain came from heart, after receiving the bills..

Sent from my friend's mobile phone.

Just confirmed with my friend, it is indeed MYR13K for the front tooth implant. Think still cheaper than SG. I enquired molar implant and was quoted around 6K to 7K.

The JB dental clinic I visited, quoted me SGD 1K plus for root canal and better grade crown. In SG, I did my root canal treatment cost near 2K and chose the cheapest crown which cost $900.

I'm 35. 2 years ago, my dentist told me there is a hairline crack on the side of the tooth shown in xray. It caused me to feel so sore, pain and discomfort when biting on chewy things, like meat, sotong.

Went to polyclinic dental, they gave me a small wooden piece to bite hard down onto. Yes, that painful, sore feeling came back.

Back to my private dentist, dentist suggested crowning to protect it. but if hairline crack deepens into the roots/gum, crowning may not help. If the crack goes deep, dentist suggested tooth removal and getting tooth implant. I went home that day and rested. It went away after a month.

Now I am facing the same problem again. Sore, pain and discomfort. Should I go for crowning or tooth implant? Given that both are almost at the same price.

Affected tooth is Upper Right, 2nd from the back.

1. My nephew went for his 'free' wisdom teeth removal few months back (NS boy). Surgery required as crooked roots. He told me relatively painless. Tech and skills improved a lot since 1998 (last time many procedures were awfully painful that giving many people PHOBIA of dentist chairs).

2. Only visit periodontist if have gum issues. Most periodontists will not do (refuse to accept) general cleaning. Periodontists are specialists. In Spore, a periodontist check up cost about $300 which is not worth if the purpose is for general cleaning.

Go Jb is best, no point to deplete Medisave cost. Revisit to local dentist costs are the main issue after those implant

Now I have another molar requires rct and crown... Wanted to go JB but was told that I need to visit them twice or thrice to complete the treatment and crowning.

If the orthodontist is good then 2-3 trips may still be ok.

*I ever thought of bringing my niece to JB to do her braces. That time was thinking of max 24 months. The thought of to be committed 24 times in-and-out JB made me gave up the idea and paid for her to do in singapore (and now ends up with after 32 times still can't fix it straight).

U nd a tooth to fill the gap else yr side teeth hav no support, will bcom loose n dropoff.

Teeth is not lik fingernails. U nd them to chew food. Unless u r in 60-70s mentally b prep to b bogeh then is fine. But if u r young, spent tat $ is worth. Can eat wo worries.

Also do go for regular dental chkup every 6m for cleaning scaling polishing. 70-80$. Cheap la
we also know it is good to have it filled. everyone knows that

but the 3-4k bill is not ok, if i have the extra 3-4k to do my tooth, i would rather spend it on home and family first.

just really need gov to let us use more medisave and offset the tooth implant bill, $1250 max is just not enough
