sold off my eb810v, bit the bullet and got the be85 deco.

Good move.

Even TP-Link Staff says they can not support EB810v well and ask the user to contact Starhub.

Hi, thanks for posting question on our community.

I can understand your needs, while it is a pity that EB810v is a customized model by some ISPs only in your region. We can know less and do less than common models.

You may feedback to Starhub directly.
At the same time, I'm moving this conversation into the ‘Feature Request (Routers)' area for better visibility. Then other people can vote there is they have same requirements.

As of now, Guest Network (or IoT Network) does not work with the Easymesh satellite nodes.

TP-Link's EasyMesh is a half baked solution in its current form.
If you want better user experience, go for the more expensive Deco.

Reference: General limitation of the TP-Link EasyMesh
https://www.tp-link.com/sg/support/faq/3529/

Q13. Does TP-Link EasyMesh system support syncing Guest or IoT Network settings across the main router and satellite nodes?

A. Currently, the TP-Link EasyMesh system does not synchronize the Guest network or IoT Network settings across the main router and the connected satellite nodes. The EasyMesh satellite nodes will only sync the main wireless network settings.

We will address this in future updates to improve the overall configuration and management experience of the TP-Link EasyMesh system. Any updates will be communicated through our official channels.
Didn't know about this limitation before setting up the easymesh. Hope TP-Link will provide updates in near future.

After using eb810v, one of the room in my house which is 8m from the router, with 2 walls in between, is getting very weak connection. It is very bad that can't connect to WIFI most of the time. Is it normal for this router?
I did not have this issue on my previous ASUS-AC86U.

It is quite normal that wireless speed drops a lot after two walls. You may just be lucky with your old RT-AC86U (an excellent WiFi 5 router, but now EOLed by Asus).

If you cannot put your main router in a central location, you may well need two nodes of EB810v for typical 3/4 bedroom flat. Starhub anyway recommends two EB810v nodes for flat with 3 to 4 bedrooms.

I have already setup easymesh with Archer BE230. The satellite node is about 6m and also 2 walls from the room. Still getting very weak connection in that room. Now the person using that room is not happy with my setup. :(

Looks like you have no LAN ports in the rooms and you are using wireless backhaul. TP-Link Archer BE230 is a low end dual band EasyMesh node and it is a poor addition to the EB810v, if you need to use wireless backhaul. But if you have LAN ports in the rooms, then maybe there are better setup using Ethernet Backhaul to suit your needs.

Anyway, since you have already bought the Archer BE230, please post the floor plan (with details of the locations of the ONT, main EB810v and Archer BE230, as well as LAN ports in the rooms if any) to see how to optimize the placement of the main EB810v and the Archer BE230 node.

In general, the mesh node needs to have good connection to the main nodes, two walls in between the main node and the mesh node is a NO-NO. Best is to have line of sight with no walls in between. Depending on the situation, you may be okay with one wall in between the main node and mesh node.

Often people think that it is good to put the wireless mesh node (or repeater) to the room with weak signal, that is usually the worst choice.

I’m getting a second 810v for my bedroom with a lan port. Can the ONT support the wired backhaul through the lan point at the DBbox?
