The nodes are connected wirelessly, and I've connected my PC via ethernet to a node placed in my bedroom
If you have any way of just going direct wired all the way to the main router then do it (or use wired backhaul etc) - like you said wireless can be finicky, and there's so many things that can make latency spike periodically, it's just not worth the risk for online gaming. I game a lot and I dedicated a port just for my gaming PC - the rest of my computers are on wireless as occasional latency isn't really noticeable for browsing, streaming etc. Either way good luck! You might be able to find a good set of wireless configs, or maybe reset the mesh and fix some underlying issue etc, but for me that amount of effort is annoying :D Wired is just so much better.

Also, old 3 story house usually has old Starhub CATV. Moca can do 2.5Gbps over cable. Not expensive either. Make sure you get one with 2.5Gbps ethernet port.

My EB810v's 2.4Ghz band Wi-Fi signal keeps dropping off (2.4Ghz option just disappears in Wi-Fi network), this cause all my house cameras to shut off since all is on 2.4Ghz. I have to restart network from Aginet app for the 2.4Ghz to reappear, and "revive" my cameras.

Called StarHub, the CSO also don't know what to do, just restart modern from her end and let me monitor. But this reoccur again. It happens like every 1 or 2 days, very frustrating.

Any suggestions? Any one facing same options?

One possible solution is to buy an Archer C80 from Carousell for $15-30 and run it as AP or Easymesh it to the EB810v just to run your cameras.

Is your old router still around? Just connect one of the EB810v LAN port to your old router's LAN port

I tried two or three different channels still the same, trying more channels....

OK, but I'm not sure if this will work? My understanding is that AP runs from the "main" signal from EB810v. So if the 2.4Ghz band on the main EB810v has issues and keep disappearing, would the AP carry over the same issues?

You can turn off the 2.4Ghz band on EB810v and use your old router as an AP. Possibly turn off the 5Ghz band on the old router or change the SSID to avoid conflict

No need to upgrade if your current setup works well. Many people sign up the UltraSports bundle because of the contents.

Typical Starhub setup diagram.

xiaofan, which Starhub ONR has 4 LAN ports?

I am going to switch to Ultrasports bundle soon. Currently I have 4 Orbi MESH in AP mode connected to Singtel ONR via wired backhaul. I want to retain the same setup by just replacing the Singtel ONR with the new Starhub ONR .

Of course nothing starhub can do for you, your issue is the router not the internet connection. Did you try restarting the router instead?

restarting will temporarily resolve the issue by making the 2.4Ghz reappear, but it will disappear again after a while (like 1 or 2 days). Then I have to restart again which is frustrating.

Anyway now changed a new channel 1, still monitoring.

If it's the StarHub version of EB810v that has issue, they can change for me right?

If it's a hardware issue and can be fixed by a replacement then starhub can do for you but if it's an inherent bug in the firmware then not sure what else you can do.....

Starhub provides Nokia XS-2426X-A ONR which has 4 LAN ports --> one 10G LAN port and three 1G LAN ports. It has also wireless function built-in (WiFi 6, AX6000 rated).

More info:
https://www.starhub.com/personal/broadband/routers.html

Take note Starhub has both ONR and ONT options. In your use case, you want to go with the plan with ONR.

Once you determine which EB810v is the main router and controller of the mesh, connect the 2nd EB810v to the master LAN port to LAN port via cable and hold down the reset button for 5 seconds. Various lights should flash for awhile while 2nd EB810v syncs with master and becomes an Easymesh satellite. After all is done thenyou can disconnect the cable and 2nd EB810v when restarted will be a wireless satellite. Repeat for the rest of your EB810v.

Thank you. I did a factory reset yeserday morning; the issue persists, so I'm going to be looking into running cable for my home.

Anyoje having issues with the EB810v dropping connection? Several times a day my work VPN gets disconnected and at the same time my wife Teams call gets cut off halfway. However wifi signal is still there. Rebooting seems to help somewhat but it tends to come back every now and then.
I seem to be having this internet connection issue as well. Route and Wifi will be on but internet would drop. Teams/Webex calls will be cut off and video streaming would be loading suddenly. I went into the router admin page and noted that the internet up time will always reset back to 0 after 30mins or so. System up time will continue to run.

Nt sure if any1 was able to resolve this already? Else would have to contact SH and troubleshoot. Not looking fwd to that. lol

Is the extender too far away from the EB810v? No matter it functions as an EasyMesh node or an extender, if you use wireles connection between the EB810v and EE705X, you cannot have too many obstructions in between.
extender is less than 5 meters away from EB810v.

Apparently the RE705X does not support Ethernet backhaul and will exhibit the behavior you describe. See thread below:

RE705X does not support Ethernet backhaul

Only the RE315 supports Ethernet backhaul. My suggestion is just buy an Archer BE230 router from Carousell for $100. It works great as a cheap fast Easmesh satellite with Ethernet backhaul where WiFi speed can be 2Gbps. Forget about using extenders
i connect RE705X wireless to EB810V, not ethernet backhaul. The easy mesh works great for 1 week, after a week it will disconnect from the easymesh network and only acts as an extender. weird

I see. Then I have no idea why this happens. Maybe you can check with TP-Link Singapore to see if they have some ideas.
