TP-Link EB810v - Quick overview

Please bear with me. I am quite noob with these wifi setup. I have this EB810v and 3 Deco X60. My Fiber Point is at the DB Box which is located all the way at the service balcony. I have 1 data point in the living room and another data point in my master bedroom (which I don't use because it is right behind my TV in the bedroom).

1. I set up my EB810v as Router and somehow could not add my Deco X60 to set up a Mesh network. Is it not compatible? If it is possible, can some kind souls guide me how to set it up?

2. I actually want to set up a Mesh network at home as having a router alone give me many blind spots. Currently the router is set up in the living via the data point. What is the best way to go about setting up the Mesh network? Is EB810v not compatible to set up Mesh network, then is there any other recommendation?

I would suggest you use ethernet backhaul since the Deco Mesh don't work with EasyMesh of the router

A. Yes and No. Wi-Fi EasyMesh, TP-Link OneMesh™, and Deco Mesh are three different mesh Wi-Fi solutions provided by TP-Link. You cannot build a mesh network by mixing TP-Link OneMesh™ routers/extenders with Deco Mesh, but you can build up a mesh system with TP-Link EasyMesh and OneMesh™ devices. In other words, you can still build up a mesh network if you have “EasyMesh router + Onemesh extender” or “OneMesh router + EasyMesh extender”.

Thank you. So that means my EB810V won't work with my X60 directly. But what I am doing it I connect my X60 to one of the port in my EB810V. Then using that X60 as the main AP, i set up another 2 X60 in separate bedrooms. It works but just wondering if that would limit the bandwidth in anyway?

It means you connect your 3x Deco units to the eb810v router using LAN cables.

I think all the X60 need to set as access point AP since you already have the eb810v as your router

If you don't want to use the eb810v the DECO X60 allows you to set as Router Mode and Access Point Mode

Set the 1st DECO X60 in router mode and the other 2 units on access point mode

sell your x60 and buy another eb810v to achieve 10gbs and faster wifi7 speeds

Will also need your help to write into starhub to release eb810v firmware faster and also open up and maintain the 2GB ram inside our eb810v

more voices write to them and score a win for consumers

dont let starhub and tplink restrict/downgrade our eb810v V1 to 1gb!

Likely the "fastest" and most seamless option. Plenty of eb810v in Carousell but asking prices seem to be increasing in the last couple of weeks probably with demand being driven by the SH 5Gbps ONT subscribers and folks building an eb810v mesh.

since is combo ports, i think not much use since their ONT no sfp+. Have you tried plug in sfp+ cable and see if the current firmware can detect?

I think so, had to tap download a few times to complete ios update.

when you write to tplink, they will taichi you to starhub because is isp model.
the consumer model, US version received quite a few fixes already
