TP-Link EB810v - Quick overview

hi all, just buy this router off carousell and paired it with my Singtel ONT. there is internet access, however my Wifi 7 equipped laptop (BE200) is not able to detect 6ghz SSID despite having direct visual range of router (0.5m).

laptop can use 5ghz or MLO SSID but not 6Ghz .

any idea what could have went wrong in the settings ?

Hi. Same issue here. If you find a solution please post it. I asked TP-link for help, they tried a few things with no luck and eventually said ask StarHub. Asking StarHub something technical is a joke. They were like “so you have internet what’s the problem?”. Various google searches points is some mythical region setting that doesn’t allow 6 GHz in some countries. But no obvious way to fix this.

I solved the issue. Go to device manager, network adapter, select wifi 7 adapter, select advanced in properties,choose 6. Dual band 802.11 a/b/g

click ok, the 6G network will appears in the wifi network list

I need to try this later. None of my devices can detect 6ghz except my wife’s s23 ultra . Not even my ip 15 pro max.

update: still cannot get my AX1675s wifi 6E to pick up 6ghz. tried checking the ultraband settings etc. nothing seems restrictive. argh....unless i have to force the eb810v to use 160mhz for 6Ghz, but cannot be, right?

Can your other devices see 6GHz?

i just gotten my EB810v. my laptop with intel AX211 cannot see the 6ghz band. But iphone 16 and iphone 16 pro can see the 6ghz band.

I have the same experience on some of my devices, it's a random and sudden disconnect and it will reconnect after a while.

I am going to try and disable my MLO connection and see if it helps

Someone on the thread did a hardware exchange but I am hoping to avoid that. I have 02 x EB810V on Mesh network

Hi,

I have been experiencing the same issue with WiFi dropping intermittently for my devices. Started around two weeks ago and it seems to be getting more frequent dropping now.

Is there any solution for this? I have tried everything - rebooting, disconnecting the power cables to the router and ONT, checking that software is latest update on router and devices, etc. But still having the same problem.

Now it's even happening in a short time after disconnecting / reconnecting power cables. My family has resorted to using sim data sometimes......

Any advice or help?

Seems like a common problem. I tried powering off the units (press the power button) for all 3 units, wait for few mins, turn on the 2 mesh satellites first, and then the main controller after the satellites have stabilize yesterday afternoon. I'm not sure why but seems to be ok thus far. Try to see if it helps.

CH100 and 160MHz may be the problem here. You may want to try CH60 to see if you want to use 160Mhz channel bandwidth. Or you may have to use 80MHz channel bandwidth if you like to use CH100 on the 5GHz band.

I understand the local regulation seems to support CH100...CH128 to form 160MHz but I believe many routers and devices may not work.

iphones can't see 320mhz, only 160mhz. If you leave it at auto it should still be able to connect.

Right now i'm using S24U and a laptop with NCM865 qualcomm card, can connect to 6ghz without issue. Laptop is on latest W11 24H2, as you need this latest build to utilise MLO, but usually i stick with single 6ghz SSID since it's the fastest.

How does the TP-Link HB710 mesh work?

I’m using another router, can I add TP-Link HB710 into my mesh network?

Even though Starhub says not compatible or not recommended in the above FAQ, I think you can just set up Archer BE230 in AP mode and then roaming will still mostly work, since both routers are compatible with EasyMesh and support 802.11 k/v.

Do not use 2.4G at 40MHz, use 20 or 20/40. You create more interference for yourself.

I use WiFi analyzer apps from time to time to check if there are problems or not. Since I live in older 4-room HDB flat (year 1998, 106sqm), with thick walls, 5GHz band interferences from the neighbours are not too bad.

I usually disable 2.4GHz band on one AP (TUF-BE6500) and only enable 2.4GHz on the other AP (RT-AX86U).

But now I enable 2.4GHz on both APs since I want to test MLO performance and IoT guest network function of the TUF-BE6500.

6ghz doesn't work very well for my s23u. Generally slower speeds unless v close to the router. I just stick with 5ghz
