Anyone knows how to do port forwarding on this EB810V for Playstation 5 remote play? I can remote play when iphone/ipad is on same wifi as PS5 at home. But if im outside using mobile data. I will encounter Remote play error code 8801330d.

Try to google around also cant find any answer for EB810V.

I'm considering signing up for the 10Gbps Internet connection and getting the EB810V as the main router to be placed in the db inside a closet in the basement. Initially I was planning on wiring the rest of the floors up with Unifi U7 Pros (currently using 4 Wifi 5 AP AC Pros), but this thread mentioned that SH now sells HB710 (1 10Gbps WLAN, 1 10Gbps LAN) for much less than one of those would cost (plus the new Unifi APs no longer have passthrough so I would need to buy even more peripherals), so now I am considering wiring up the rest of the floors (1st, 2nd and 3rd) with HB710s.

Is it utterly necessary to wire all of the HB710s up with 10Gbps WLAN uplink? Or is it "backward compatible" with 2.5GBps uplink?

Considering the max speed of Wifi 7, I doubt it can give me anything close to 5Gbps, let alone 10Gbps over wifi. Or am I underestimating the available speed of Wifi 7? If so, I would need to buy a 10Gbps switch to put between the router and the APs which would cost me an extra $300-400 dollars.

Otherwise, is wiring two of them up with 2.5Gbps (since the EB810v already has 1 10Gbps LAN port and 3 2.5 Gbps ports) from the EB810v perfectly okay?

Your plan should work.
XGS-PON ONT --> Main EB810v 10G WAN port (10G RJ45 port)
Main EB810v router 10G RJ45 LAN port --> HB710 node 1 (10Gbps Ethernet backhaul)
Main EB810v router 2.5G LAN port 1 --> HB710 node 2 (2.5Gbps Ethernet backhaul)
Main EB810v router 2.5G LAN port 2 --> HB710 node 3 (2.5Gbps Ethernet backhaul)
Main EB810v router 2.5G LAN port 3 --> spare or other wired device (up to 2.5Gbps)

WiFi 7 speed can indeed be greater than 2.5Gbps at close range with the proper WiFi 7 clients which support 320Mhz channel bandwidth on the 6GHz band, but then a bit further away, the speed will drop below 2Gbps pretty quickly.

More info about WiFi 7 speed in this forum. The record WiFi 7 download speed is 4.886Gbps at close range.

I got a call from Starhub Sales on the phone on Saturday, and went down to recontract on Sunday.

Apparently SH no longer offers a free EB810v as part of the 10Gbps HomeHub plan if I recontract, and in fact I have to pay for the EB810v if I opt for ONT instead of ONR, in addition to the three cheaper HB710s. It has ballooned my additional expenses from $576 to $936. So that's something to note for any Starhub customers like me who want to recontract to the 10Gbps HomeHub plan and still want the EB810v as their main router.

I did consider buying 4 HB710s instead and then putting a 10Gbps switch between the primary one, but the price is actually a little more than just getting the EB810v, so I'll just stick with the EB810v for now.

Which Homehub+ plan are you looking at? The cheaper plans only come with Nokia ONR and needs top-up for EB810v. The more expensive plan comes with free EB810v as per the Starhub website.

Nope, I already asked but they did not allow me to take up this plan when I asked for it as it's exclusively for new subscribers. Guess I wasn't convincing enough. So I ended up with the base $88 a month plan (plus extras like voice line, second TV box, etc). They did offer to split up payment for the four routers across two years (which is like 39 a month).

A few bugs I found in the current firmware:
1. 5 GHz automatically switched to Ch 44
2. Unable to connect to 2.4 GHz

I have to schedule regular reboot and sometimes factory reset to fix this.

Anyone knows when the new firmware will be released? Anyone from Starhub?

Seems a bit strange - what's your version?

Mine is
Firmware Version:0.14.0 3.0.0 v608b.0 Build 240709 Rel.56868n

My wireless settings haven't changed at all and the channels seemed fix (even on Auto).

Same version. Is it hardware issue for me? Also, I stay near Paya Lebar air base, could that be the cause?

Not sure, good theory.. all that DFS stuff etc, but you can control the channels, so it may be worth using one of the free tools that analyse Wifi use and picking non-congested channels (not using Auto). If you're manually choosing channels and its still resetting that seems like a bug. If you have it on Auto then it may be seeing all the traffic and picking the least congested - same for 2.4GHz.

BTW, anyone here using Pixel 8 or 9 series? My phone usually get 1.8 - 2 Gbps download / 1 -1.3 Gbps upload on 6G. But recently I only get 600 - 900 Mbps download, no issue with upload speed.

Maybe you want to test again at different time with different SpeedTest servers to see if that makes a difference.

Enable 160MHz on the 5GHz band and see if you can get >1Gbps wireless speed as well.

It seems to me Pixel 8 Pro does not support 320MHz channel bandwidth on the 6GHz band, so 6GHz speed will be similar to 5GHz band in terms of speed.

The reports seem to say Pixel 9 Pro does support 320MHz channel bandwidth (with recent FW updates) on the 6GHz band, so 6GHz speed will be faster than 5GHz band in terms of speed.

BTW, I can reproduce the issue (slow 6GHz download than upload) for my HB710 sometimes, mainly in router mode (Double NAT after OpenWRT main router). It seems to have no issues in AP mode. No such issue for 5GHz band. And the issue also happens on the 5GHz+6GHz MLO SSID.

On the other hand, your issue with EB810v may be different.

I do not have such slow 6GHz download versus upload speed issue with my Archer BE805, but then MLO speed is slow after recent Intel BE200 driver updates (version 23.110.0.5).

Yes, known issues. Starhub doesn't bother to look into this issue.

For those Starhub users who are reading this thread and worry about the slow bug fixes of Starhub issued EB810v, the alternative is to consider TP-Link Archer BE805.

Pros for Archer BE805:
1) consumer model, potentially faster bug fixes or feature enhancement
2) with Wireguard VPN server and client function
3) maybe slightly cheaper if you get from Carousell at S$300 to S$350 (dumped mainly by M1 users)

Cons for Archer BE805
1) no 2.5G ports
2) no EHT240 support on the 5GHz band (potentially useful for wireless backhaul)
3) no built-in OOkla SpeedTest utility

Does this model allow configuration of VPN. The vpn tab in router page all seem to be about server and not vpn client.

Maybe you want to post the screenshot of your EB810v when you say you cannot find the VPN client tab.

TP-Link Archer BE805 is a consumer router and it supports VPN Server/Client, including Wireguard VPN Server/Clinet which will not be supported by EB810v/HB710.

1) Indeed EB810v does not seem to have VPN Client support. Same for HB710.
