Can I check is the mesh wifi signal of this tp link router strong enough for a 5 room hdb apartment?

Do I need to get a 2nd wifi tp link router at sgd 360 from StarHub to ensure the last room, which is abt 10 metres away from router with a wall in between, is able to get strong signals?

You may want to post the floor plan with details of the ONT and room LAN ports location, as well as the intended placement of the main router.

If you don't want to post the information, another option is to use the EB810v first to see how it goes. If not good enough, then buy another node (say the cheaper HB710 at S$192 or EB810v at S$360).

Try this. Connect LAN port ob BE810v to LAN port of AX72 via LAN cable. Press reset button on AX72 for 5sec. Wait a few minutes for lights on AX72 to stabilize. Then disconnect LAN cable. Turn AX72 off then on.

1) It is not possible to swap their ONT to your ONR. Each ONT or ONR is tied to an account.

2) If you are willing to pull one Ethernet cable to the study room, then the cheap solution is to get a Nokia Beacon 2 as mesh node. It is quite cheap from Carousell (maybe S$30 BNIB).

Nokia ONR (AX6000) is only compatible with Nokia Beacon 2 (or the old Nokia Beacon 1).

3) If you want to swap your ONR to an ONT, then you have to talk to Starhub and use your negotiation power. Maybe they will be willing to do that if you buy EB810v (S$360) from them. In that case, you may still want to pull a Ethernet cable to the study room and buy another HB710 (S$192) as mesh node.

Change to ONT and then use EB810v + HB710 mesh setup with Ethernet backhaul or EB810v+EB810v setup, depending on your budget.

If high budget, then get higher end WiFi 7 routers.

I think when under contract, relocation is free. You can check starhub to relocate the ONT to your address and ONR to your parents address. If there is digital voice tie to it, it will shift together with the ONR/ONT.

Not possible to connect the NAS to EB810v via Ethernet cable as it's too far apart. I cannot use powerline adapter as well. So I think I need to buy some access point? Or something else?

I dont want to buy another EB810v. So can someone advise another low range device to purchase? I dont need super fast speed transfer.

HB410 (dual band BE6500) is a cheaper option, S$120 from Starhub, performance will not be as good as HB710 but may well be acceptable.

2. You can try your two Nokia Beacon (hopefully it is Nokia Beacon 2 and not Nokia Beacon 1). Free.

TP-Link EX520 (M1) or EX510 (Starhub/MR) is even better option as it supports TP-Link EasyMesh. So you can use them as mesh node with your EB810v, using wireless backhaul.

Using simplified words:
1) Mesh node with Ethernet Backhaul = AP with better roaming capability
2) Mesh node with Wireless Backhaul = wireless repeater with better roaming capability

Just be careful with however you extend from the EB810v - if its not a mesh you may end up with your NAS behind a router on a different LAN and you might not be able to route between the two networks easily, so could be awkward to access your NAS.

Adding an AP -- no issue here, same network

Adding a mesh node with Ethernet Backhaul -- no issue here, same network

Adding a mesh node with wireless Backhaul -- no issue here, same network

Adding another two nodes mesh solution, like the two nodes Nokia Beacon 2 idea, then the main node needs to be in AP mode, no matter using Ethernet Backhaul or wireless backhaul.

Adding wireless repeater like EA8100 v1 idea -- need to make sure it is still using the same network. Old repeater tends to create another network.

my Eb810v from starhub last time keep having 2.4Ghz dropping off issue, causing my cameras at home to malfunction. Tried many methods and SH finally agree to swap a new one for me. Now the new Eb810v no issues with 2.4ghz dropping, but now 5ghz dropping intermittently, disrupted one of my online meetings yesterday. Haiz...is this Eb810v really messed up or does the issue lie with starhub?

And I don't know why there's absolutely no way of changing the 5ghz channel and channel width of the Eb810v. Now it's stuck at channel 44 and width 160mhz. If you try to change it to any other, it will revert back to this
