Okay lah, my Archer C7 how long liao got 10 years already? Still wifi 5.

Routers don't spoil a lot unless pathologically badly designed like a certain brand I once worked for. The highest chance to spoil is the power supply and even then only if you cheap out on it. My ONT power adapter spoil twice.
power adapter can just buy online or from shop, make sure voltage same with maybe +0.5 tolerance. for current any rating equal or higher than the original adapter should work

The first gen Nucleus Connect I recommend getting a power supply that has higher current rating than the original.

Heck it, just get a higher current rating regardless of generation. I lost trust in that company already.

current higher always better. the "theory" is that current is drawn, so a higher amp adapter will allow the device to draw more power

actually higher speed usually comes with shorter range. this assumes with the same power used to transmit the data.

same thing with 3g 4g 5g.
Higher radio frequency results in higher speed and shorter range.

Otherwise speed and range is the same thing and interchangeable. And there are ways to increase speed/range. Higher signal power, better sense amp, better beamforming and multipathing...

Faster, latency lesser, more stable.
Big upgrade for me.
I think wifi 7 is even faster than my cat 5e cable, can't wait to upgrade in June when my M1 contract finishes

Moi contract end Dec, will go wifi 7 if cost not a big factor

i running wifi 7 at home now. the range is horrible. router is less than 5m away from me in the living room. i close my room door i cannot get full bar signal already and the speeds drops to about the same as wifi 6. do plan out your router location properly. consider wifi 7 mesh if u can afford. not to mention your devices all must upgrade. only the latest phones can support. your PC/laptop unlikely to support unless u go purchase 1 now.

Sounds bad. Rather stick to wifi 6 for now.

Advice for WiFi noobs, I had conducted few actual survey using tools such as Netspot, the placement of Wifi routers very very important.

In most cases, you need the height advantage and line of sight, without signals blocking items such as heavy density object blocking the signal path.

If your WiFi router placed at your knee level, only your cats or dogs will get strong signal, anything within 5-10m of the router.
