Had to go back and get all the parts of my previous casing that was makanded before I got it ready for sale (Haf 922 for sale now, in the marketplace). Best when buying at tradepac is to buy boxed, sealed stuff. Their sales service is crap, their aftersales service is even worse. They charged me $15 b4 to reset my cmos back when my n00b quotient was sky high and did a failed o/c.

Exactly. Buy what you need there cause the price can be quite attractive. Other than that, don't do anything else there.

yeah, I see it mentioned very often that you should only go to Tradepac if you know what you are doing and what you want.

Sending your clueless friend to buy from Tradepac because you are too busy working is not a good idea.

I bought my Biostar A880G+ and x3 445 from Tradepac. They asked to me "top up" to get an Asrock 780 motherboard Fortunately, I know what I wanted.

p.s. did your friend manage to unlock his 955BE? I hear not so easy to unlock. x3 445 better deal because easier to unlock...

I just got a PC from TradePac a few days ago (did not assemble there though); in my opinion their prices can be good (provided you know what you want and can haggle a bit); but their service attitude can be somewhat on the poor side.

This I have to agree, it's a offset of service for price. I went there, knew what are the things I want, got everything in its original box, fixed myself, no problems what so ever

Same here. Looking at both Tradepac and PC Themes, you would now really rather buy from PC Themes as you treat the slight price premium as their service charge that is worthy. You will feel safe and happy whn you leave their shop. Unlike Tradepac where you dont even know whether you got all the parts supposed to be in the package...

You only go to tradepac when:

1) Most shops dun carry what you want.
2) Price are lower than PCtheme.
3) Pay by cash.

Hey dude. Chill lah. I was referring to their after sales service, not their moral ethics. And even so we are entitled to our own opinions based on our individual experiences. I'm just sharing mine whilst others are entitled to air their grievances too right? I never had them assemble those rigs. I diy myself at home. Didn't trust them to do a proper job.

And pardon me, but I was using the budget airline example as an analogy, not a parallel. Just trying to make a point that every commercial entity may target a different market segment. like tradepac is better for those who know what they are getting, paying less as a result. Furthermore it is highly advisable to check your purchases before leaving any shop (be it at SLS or not). You have yourself to blame if you didn't receive everything in order after leaving the shop if you didn't check.

I remember wayyyy back, I wanted a WD Blue 320hdd. This shop packed everything into plastic bag then tie it up and bill me. I walk outside the shop, feeling something wrong, then open up. it was a HITACHI. That time WD and Hitachi price difference is about $20+. So is it my fault? Or is he purposely want to cheat me?

Can't agree more! Saw tis customer checkin his items & asked Tradepac y gif him another brand wout telling him. Tradepac said e brand he wanted not avail. customer fuming & said they shld let him knw b4 payment & not sneak in other brand into his purchases. Tradepac nver apologize. Poor customer in a rush so no time to argue & left the shop.

But they offer very good ( if not the cheapest ) price in town , so go there is you are pro, and know what u want

Tradepac, PC theme, Bell and Uvnium are my favourite shops in SLS. Nvr had any problem with them

I also bought from tradepac b4. A 460, cm case and psu. Nothing happened until now. But I saw them matching the serial number of a customer's mobo to ensure that it's the correct mobo. Dun think got so bad ba.

But they are ok. Although slack a lot of time. But so far the things i gotten that i dun really like is the power supply (expected to be moduler)!!!

They told me that is "of" the same price...but no problems for now...

But been using my new rig for the pass 3 days...and no problems arised...

in any shop in sim lim, you must know exactly what you want and how much is the cost. i recently got my 3 x 3d acer monitors from tradepac. i went during off peak when they normally have the time to talk to you.

they called up acer and ordered for the exact model. i paid upfront and came back the following day.

i got it about $30 off against the sticker price on the acer website.

they are okay - as long as you just buy full packages / and you know exactly how much it costs...

I also just build my rig from tradepac this month (first timer but got some help with few people in this forum) so far everything is working properly and I didn't even ask them to keep the boxes for me but they did kept it for me.

The only thing that I didn't like is the cable management that they did to my rig. It's really bad

P.S. They have two technicians there, one primary technician (fat guy) which can do really good cable management and can fix your system nicely and the back up which just do an O.K. job on your rig.. sadly I got the O.K. one because it was the off day of the primary technician and I am already itching to bring home my new rig

Must see their mood and the crowd,if too many pple then bo chap. Esp if you buy small item,then will entertain others first. But overall,know what you want,bargain abit,pay by cash and then zhao.

just bought a 18$ psu a few hours ago, found out cable not long enough.

They say can exchange for better one with top up from me, hope got no problems.
