just bought an avermedia dvb-t tuner .... but cannot scan for digital channels .... any idea what's wrong?

connected to scv point, using avertv software/prog dvb

can only detech analog channels

those free to air channel.. (eg ch 5,8,u....) all is analog on scv cable

wall scv point only can recv analog signal.

Coz Starhub blocks the DVB-T signals in the cable head-end room which is located on the roof of each HDB flat.

Another critical shortcoming of AverTV, apart from the puny antenna bundled with Volar HX, is its inability to decode Dolby Digital Plus which is the 1st audio track for certain programs on HD 5, 2nd audio track is stereo. Avermedia must buck up & purchase a license from Dolby to decode audio encoded in Dolby algorithms.

Windows Media Center is able to decode the Dolby Digital Plus

Bought the AverTV Hybrid Volar HX today, able to scan all digital and analog signals.

However, i noticed the stick kind of heated up and feels hot, is it normal? possible to have it connected for hours?

I have a strange problem I am not sure if any AverTV users here are also experiencing...

I can watch HD5 on AverTV player. However I only get audio on the 2nd audio track. One of you said this track is stereo?

If I switch to Windows Media Center, I can't watch anything. It simply shows a plain blue screen with the words Digital Audio TV. However, I can hear the audio.

Is this normal?

lol no bros staying in woodlands ah? if nt avermedia stick never tell me what channels u guys are able to recevied lei? cos i intend to hoot the stick soon but scare buy alrdy cannot recevie den waste money
