Hello Guys and Gals,

Greetings from AVerMedia! AVerMedia has launched the brand new AVerTV Volar for MAC. It has a classy user friendly software developed by the AVerMedia team, and the best thing is it also supports Windows based systems, so one USB stick for your MAC and Windows systems! Great for laptops, Netbooks, desk tops, CULV platforms, it is a worthy choice.

To Avertek Contact Person: MICHAEL LEE
Address: 95 KALLANG AVENUE #03-00 AIS INDUSTRIAL BUILDING
Country: SINGAPORE
Tel: 63417839
Fax: 63417739

Please bundle a antenna which can enable Volar HX to receive digital & analogue in high rise HDB flats.

The pathetic puny antenna in HX can't receive DVB-T signals, NOT even TVMobile! & analogue TV signal is CRAP in Bedok.
At S$130, we deserve the enjoyment of clear digital & analogue terrestrial TV signals. And we're not expecting DVD or Bluray clarity standard, just comparable to CRT is good enough.

The A827 itself may be a good DVB-T Hybrid decoder but without a good high power antenna, it is TRASH. And buyers who are unable to receive clear digital & analogue will trash it on forums such as HWZ, resulting no sale of Volar HX for AverTek in Singapore.

Even connecting to wall outlet, Volar HX's analogue TV picture quality is only VCD quality.

Think about it, Avertek.

Regards.

it's funny that we dont question our govt infrastructure and ask from vendor? the 2-bar antenna hx puts in the pakage is quite good compared to what other brands offer...the single stick one...that is really poor.

the major problem is our digital broadcast towers not strong enough. and analog tv signal from wall point is in standard density format...of course it is VCD quality....

of course..if vendor could provide some solution...it will be the best...but i think real problme lies in gov...

dvd qlty is 720X576 resolution with 25 frames per second.
you can select "Personalize"→"OSD"→"video standard" in the setup of avertv to see the actual signal source standard. it will show 576i and should be dvd standard, at least to our eyes it is, no matter it has been upscaled by the broadcaster or not.

some analog channels also claim to be dvd standard but i really doubt....cuz even our eyes dont believe.

i would say both are dvd quality~ as long your hv a good & clean analog signal, the video quality can even surpass digital channel~ analog channels allow u to set upto 10 to 12Mbps video bidrate recording while digital channels are restricted to the amount of bandwidth they squeeze in one freq. eg. digital 5, 8 & CNA share one freq, they hv a relatively lower video bitrate of 3 to 4Mbps video bidrate, resolution at 704 x 576, TVmobile has a same resolution as analog channels at 720 x 576 & hv a higher video & audio bidrate~ :s22:

remember someone use a long copper wire to tie from the tip of the tiny antenna to the metal frame of his windows to boost the signal strength~ :)

u can give it a try~
