digtial tuner range should be 30-70, and both analog/digital tuners go up to 100+
important features to note:

1) sensitivity-able to receive signals better
2) stablility- not hang or get too hot when operate after a few hours
3) software- good software that bundle with the tuner can have alot of functions and features
4) warranty

thanks for the reply.

1) sensitivity-able to receive signals better
is it safe to say expensive one more better radio sensitivity?
2) stablility- not hang or get too hot when operate after a few hours
ok. that have to look for reviews.
3) software- good software that bundle with the tuner can have alot of functions and features
what are the usual functions that usually seen, i need most priority just to record only.
4) warranty
ok noted.

i would like to add on, i heard about something called hardware-decoding.

-does it affect me watching hd videos, if my machine lets say does not have a good gfx card.

-what would be the difference if i get a analog/digital tuner, e.g. viewing difference, quality? or just different mode of video only.

-will the future videos be all in digital or just analog only.

thanks for your help :)

$20 one can try try lor~

usually got the AVerTV Hybrid Volar HX @ abt $85~

had this tuner couple of weeks ago as my old Hauppauge WinTV FM PCI has no Vista/Win7 drivers

guess Volar consumes more CPU cycles as it's USB based.. but its connector is surprisingly scorching hot! even just after a few mins usage whether TV or FM function

& another more undesirable thing is when watching analoge channels, it has the 'startling' effect irregularly though just a wee sec when so.. any resolution or what may be the cause? or just got to live with it? thnx :) also feel the PQ hot as sharp as my old Hauppage.. haha

tried using latest tuner & video drivers on XP (OS yet to upgrade)

Hi guys. Seems like most of you are reviewing AverTV Hybrid Volar HX. How about AverTV Hybrid Super 007
PCI?
Am i right to say, for hybrid tv tuner you can receive Channel U using analog????

Last thing, anyone using averTV hybrid volar HX and stay in choa chu kang?? Are you able to receive most of the channels? I'm living on the 4th storey only :(

Thanks!!
