Driving at 91 on a 90kmh road is also an offence. It is not a matter of how fast you are going, but being a responsible and courteous road user. If you know you are holding up the traffic, y not just filter to the left and let the traffic pass? Is it really that difficult?

And all those Jam braking thingy.. Please grow up... and do not take matters in your own hand. Life is precious, value them before doing anything reckless.

The roads are getting more and more crowded and getting more stressful to drive. Please lets make our roads a more "pleasant" one.

Drive Safe.

Jam brake is obviously for the light hearted. i suppose some don't see it that way. wonder how nervous they are when they drive. mods or normal members i don't give a ****, everybody is a forumer :)

I feel being considerate goes a long way. Look at yourself, you could be a hero by speeding your way through lane one, but you will age, everyone does. On the road you find peeps with all age groups. I have a friend whom drive 70 on expressway, he's 6x years old. Is he committing an offense? if he is, what if you are discriminated when u are that age?

There are all sorts of peeps on the roads, drive safely should be the key objective, not speed.

Haha jokes. Show me hw many pple gt fine for travelling between 90-100 on lane 1 first besides blocking emergench vehicle

Exactly, how many of you know of people who kanna fine for staying at 90km/h at lane 1 and how many of you encounter people who are caught speeding on lane 1.

Someone had already posted that a road hogger only get a warning, u think you will get a warning if you speed on lane 1.

The real life situation favours road hoggers.

1) He road hog get a warning
2) You try to overtake from the left, you get fine
3) You tail gate, you get fine

You see TP park park at the side of the expressway, u think they are catching road hoggers?

Ask TP what speed you can travel on lane 1 to overtake cars and lets see what is the answer. :s13:

I am the traffic police. if you drive above 90kmph on lane 1, please report yourself so that I can indict you. otherwise, prove in the traffic rules book where states driving above 90kmph on lane 1 is legal.

hahaha.

Drive Safe.

They road hog for several reasons but mostly they think they are right to stick to the speed limit or it is to their convenience.

For the latter reason, it normally happen when the traffic on the left is slower than Lane 1, if they filter left to let the car behind through, they would have to travel slower than they would on lane 1 or they just F care as they don't get fine.

I am sure lots of you get warning letters from TP for travelling 10km/h above the speed limit but anyone of you know of anyone getting a warning letter for road hogging.

Even if road hog..would others even give a ****, and take the trouble to report to LTA/TP? Most likely not. They will just overtake you..the most they highbeam/horn at you nia. Unless they guai lan and play jam brake..but still they are at fault for reckless driving :o

I mean as long as u're not driving excessively slow on highway..like 40-50kmhr..i suppose it's acceptable. :D

hogging is wrong, speeding is also wrong.. both shd be fined lor.. If compare based on TP rules, those speeding >20km/h above speed limit are worse offenders than hoggers..

obstructing flow of traffic = 4 demerit pts
exceed speed limit by 1-20km/h = 4 demerit pts
exceed speed limit by 21-30km/h = 6 demerit pts

The main point is how TP interprete obstruction of Traffic. If i remember correctly, Driving Centre teach us that for every 10km/h speed, you need to keep 1 car length to vehicle in front, so if you travel 90km/h, you are allowed to keep 9 vehicles distance. If TP follow this rule to catch road hoggers, you got to be very very "blur" to get caught for road hogging and U better dun put your name here to get laughted at. :s13:

Who would want to report road hogging even if you have the time if the road hog vehicle travel at the speed limit, you would have to take the video of the act and in the same time you would also prove that you travel above the speed limit and its as good as asking for a fine from TP. :s13:

how come still fighting? hoggers or not, they won't change. not as if you're doing 200km/h where changing lanes is dangerous. hoggers are just a moving road obstruction.

be nice to your fellow road users

DRIVE SAFE! lol :D

Am I right to say driving slow u can take control of your car; unlike driving fast, u tend to lost control of your car due to reaction time (not you but your car)?
Thus TP fine drivers who are more accident prone. :)

Anyway, drive safely is the best.
