Just received this

what does this mean? grab topup got additional 5% now, meaning total up to 10% rebate. from 16 march onwards, no more? if yes, then can throw the card away...

Wow. If this is true, lucky my quarter is Dec to Feb.

As I said many times, quarterly rebate really bad for customers. Because of this, I dare not go all out to topup 2k per mth but stick to 1k per mth in case tnc gets changed in the middle of the quarter.

I wonder those of us who are paying monthly premiums to Prudential through UOB will also be affected? After all, it is their bankers who sold us the plans.

yes, need to check on this, if rebate no more, no point charging to the card for bonus interest, very hard to track with quarterly rebate exclude, bonus interest include

Scroll all the way to the bottom till you see Terms and Conditions then pull down to see.

Wef 16 Mar 2020, please be informed that selected transactions such as Grab mobile wallet top-ups, wire transfers, payments to Non-Financial Institutions (such as crypto-currencies etc), quasi-cash and more will be excluded from the awarding of cash rebate on the UOB One Card and bonus interest on the UOB One Account. For clarity, all other Grab transactions will continue to be eligible for the awarding of cash rebate on the UOB One Card. Insurance payments will be excluded from the awarding of cash rebate on the UOB One Card but continue to earn bonus interest on the UOB One Account.

So seems they no longer aligned the exclusion for UOB One card and bank account. Insurance treated differently. Could be because like what some people pointed out, they were persuaded by bank to buy the insurance (probably when they open UOB One account).

I wonder what's the MCC code for the monthly premium payment? cos it didn't explicitly say that it's excluded, except for insurance sales (I assume it is those one-off type?). i'm referring to MCC 6300.

You can call UOB hotline to check MCC for past transaction posted.

i'm asking my RM. but I think most likely is gg liao. feels cheated as she'd only sold me the plan late last year and the premium is 5-year payable.

the bank should only apply the new ruling to new plans purchased after 16 March. but I doubt they care.
