For the 3 GIRO transaction, should it be charged to the ONE CC or One account?
Is there any difference?

Have a qns here regarding credit card refunds.

In the mth if sept, I made purchase for an item online but this transaction was refunded to me in October due to unforseen circumstances.

So now I am confused with how much I need to spend this month to get my uob1 account bonus interest and my uob 1 card quarterly cash rebate.

If say eg the refund is 100sgd into my credit card this mth, does that means I have to now spend 600sgd to qualify for my uob1 account bonus interest? Or 500sgd is enough? I talked to uob branch personal and uob cso over the phone...both gave me completely different answer.

Can I have a mixture of both CC GIRO and One Account GIRO?
Example: 1 CC GIRO + 2 One Account GIRO

It still add up to 3 but will it be awarded the 3 GIRO bonus?

no. all 3 giro payment must be funded by uob one account

For your CC, what is your quarterly cycle ?

Have you received your Sep bonus interest in full ?

Sorry i also not sure what's my quarterly rebate cycle is...my last CC rebate was given to me on 30th June base on my statements.

I have received my full Sep bonus this mth but i have also spent more than 1k on my card in sept. so even if they removed the refunded amount...i would have still met the 500sgd spent last mth.

i am just worried that becuz the refunded amount came into my credit transaction this mth...now i need to spend 500 plus refunded amount to qualify for OCT bonus interest.

for Bonus Interest in Oct, you only need to spend $500.

I think your quarter shld be Sep, Oct & Nov.

for Rebate are u aiming for the $500 or $1000 tier ?

If u spend $500 each for Oct & Nov, u shld get $50 rebate.

If u r looking to hit $1k tier to get $100 rebate, then may need an exception from UOB to "top up" your spending in Oct to make up for the Sep refund.

You can raise the request now, get a understanding from them but UOB will only action after Nov (or when the next rebate is posted).

need to spend 500+refunded amount for Oct bonus interest. need to spend 1000+refunded amount if you going for $100 quarterly rebate, 500+refunded amount if you going for $50 quarterly rebate.

Thanks for the replies...as u guys can see, the above 2 replies are exactly the replies I got from 2 different CSO from uob.

It's really confusing me...so which is which? How much am I suppose to spend on my UOB card this mth to qualify myself for both the uob1 account bonus interest and uob1 card cash rebate? =__=

Oh and I am just aiming for the 500sgd tier for my uob1 quarterly cash rebate.

your worries are unfounded. if you already spent more than 500 + refunded amount for sept, then there is no need to spend 500 + refunded in oct. just spend $500 in oct will do. the refunded amount will not affect your spend for oct.

Can I ask the following:

1) Is monthly hdb town council fee can be include in $500 cc spending.
2) Is monthly SP Service exp can be include in $500 cc spending.
3) Is credit card payment from UOB one account is counted 1 giro arrangement?
4) The $500 cc spending is depend on calendar month or statement month?
I) calendar month eg 1-31 for Oct
II) Statement month. Statement date is 3 Oct. So the $500 cc spending will be from 3 Oct to 3 Nov?

Thanks so much....

The refunded amount in Oct will minus off spending in Oct. The card or account will not trace back that the refund was for Sep transaction.

I just read the TnC and couldn't find anything mentioned about refunds except this:

any credit card transaction that was subsequently cancelled, voided or reversed for any reason; any other transactions as may be prescribed by the Bank;

this is under "exclusions". since the transaction was in sept, it would mean that the sept eligibility is affected, not Oct. because retailers may take months to refund the customer. it is up to the bank to trace back to the sept if the total eligible spend still meets the min after deducting the refund.

I suggest get black and white from UOB about this. but my understanding is eligibility for bonus interest/rebate is based on spending in that month (after factoring any refunds, for that month).

Looks like I have to call the bank again to verify AGAIN. =_=

suggest you write in to get black and white... cos over the phone they can say one thing, and it turns out the other (just like you said two different CSOs give you two different instructions).

but i'm fairly confident you don't need to spend $500 + refunded amount for October (assuming you received your refund this month) because even if they deduct the amount refunded from the monthly spend, they are doing it wrongly (in the wrong month). they should rightfully deduct for the month of September and claw back the rebate if necessary. but since u spent more than $500 + refunded amount for September they have no reason to fault you.

my two cents lah...

I do agree with u on this cuz if they deduct my transaction last mth yet require me to spend 500+refunded amount in Oct...it's sorta double jeopardizing me.

I understand that all telecalls made are actually recorded and can be pull out when an investigation is required. Problem now is the last call I had with uob...the CSO over the phone said I need to spend 500+refund amount to earn the uob1 account bonus interest. The CSO that said no need was another guy i spoke to at UOB branch tampines.
