With effect from 1 Feb 2017, 1) Monthly instalments under 0% Instalment Payment Plan, SmartPay will not qualify as card transactions and such spend will not go towards the minimum spend and will not be awarded cash rebate. 2) A minimum of 5 transactions per month must be made to earn cash rebate and will take effect on your new qualifying quarter. Please note that there will be changes to the UOB One Card terms & conditions. Details at uob.com.sg/one

This is the worst news for me. I paid $100 extra to pay under an installment plan with a company and it will only end in Jul. Now UOB slapped in this unfavorable clause that will affect existing installment plan.

I'm on numerous installment plans (some will stretch for another 20months or so). For years there's no problem. Suddenly now got this pattern.

Wa lao, had i known i won't sign up installment with UOB ONE.

I guess it's time for me to move back to OCBC. The minimum 5 transaction thing for some reason really irritates me.

It was minimum 3 transactions previously so I guess it is not a big issue. But likely I won't be interested in installment payment anymore and will just do lump sum payment with cards giving better deals. UOB cards are likely not the choice card.

Anyone know if its possible to change our installments from UOB out to another card? How does this work?

I wonder any other cards that still gives *some* rebates for 0% installment payments.

They should have a more just system. This is a big deal for many people who have signed 0% instalment plans using their card. At the very least, they should state that any plans signed before so and so date will continue to be eligible for rebates until the plan ends. :s22:

For your example, the 5 txt requirement kicks in from April. But the 0% installment exclusion still starts from feb no matter what your quarter is. Their FAQ did address this query.

No longer the most generous card. Should remove its status officially.
