Hi, given the UOB changes on 16 March (to remove additional 5% cash rebate on Grab transactions), will

(A) topping up $500 worth of grab credits still count towards the quarterly rebate? and

(B) will I still qualify for UOB One (savings) account monthly bonus interest simply by topping up $500 worth of grab credits through UOB One Card?

Just received sms that insurance premiums will no longer be counted as spending for the rebates! **** man! Cancelling card soon...

Any good Credit Card suggestion for paying Premiums? I thought UOB One was the best until I got the sms! 😡

Boring~ all my monthly $2000 prudential premiums. Wtf

So I tried to see where I can park my prudential premiums as well.

Checked the UOB Delight card product page which says:
Plus, get 3% SMART$ rebate on Singapore Power and recurring bills for telcos, Prudential Insurance, and United Overseas Insurance (UOI), Town Councils and SPH newspapers with S$400 min. spend per month.

But on the same page they also added
With effect from 16 March 2020, please be informed that selected transactions such as insurance payments, Grab mobile wallet top-ups, wire transfers, payments to Non-Financial Institutions (such as crypto-currencies etc), quasi-cash and more will be excluded from the awarding of cash rebates. For clarity, all other Grab transactions will continue to be eligible for awarding of cash rebates.

:s11:

So I called UOB and this customer service officer on the line is saying that Delight card is earning SMART$ not cash rebate so it should not be impacted...

I chose to believe him for a moment and ran some numbers: with a cap of 50 SMART$ per months that's about $1667 worth of premium earning 3%, not as good as the 5% from One Card but at least better than nothing.

;)

But he was also saying per T&C, SMART$ is good for only 6 months and you can only offset it at one go, so if you have 50 SMART$ in the card and you want to offset your $20 grocery bill at Giant, you can't do it. You can only redeem in full when the payment amount is more than all the SMART$ in the card...

Okay okay I'd probably want to spend the SMART$ everyone month before it accumulates to $100, $150...

So far still okay, until I asked the question "So does this count towards UOB One Account credit card spending requirement of $500?"

Answer is NO.

Only 3 cards qualify for UOB One Account credit card spending requirements: One Card, Yolo Card, Ladies Card.

So sounds like I'm gonna need to leave $500 premium on UOB One card earning nothing but to qualify for UOB One Account credit card spending so I can still get UOB One Account interests, then move the rest to Delight Card to get 3% SMART$, while figuring out a monthly one-shot $50 spend at Cold Storage/Market Place/ Jasons/Giant/Guardian etc...

Or maybe it's time to look at other bank accounts and cards.

Shame that UOB One Account and One Card had worked hand-in-hand so well but they think it's time to cut them off.

Redemption option only pops up when your spend amount is more than the SMART$ you have.

Oic. I remotely remember I redeemed for a smaller value item early last year though. Maybe I remember wrongly.

Still can get up to 10% on non-topup grab transaction
What are the types of transactions that can only use grabpay wallet?
I can think of these:
- those retail stores where you scan the QR code to pay
- favepay using grabpay (since it will use grabpay wallet)
- GrabPay Card (the virtual/physical MasterCard)

Thank you so much for clarifying some doubt. UOB really can go jiak $ai.

Does the 10% apply if we pay using grab QR code linked to UOB One?

Grab QR code takes from grabpay wallet that need to be topped up first right?

Guess left only things like grab ride or grab food that can be directly linked to uob one.

Other than cardup, anyone knows of any alternative for insurance monthly premium?
Seem like a lot of folks are paying monthly insurance via this card.
