A while ago, UOB tied up some arrangement with Prudential such that premiums from Prudential are counted as amount spent .
Does anyone know if that arrangement has been superceded?
I checked and only see a general Insurance not counted.
Premium is coming soon next week, and would like to hear if someone knows if it’s still valid or cancelled.
Thanks in advance

It's still counted towards bonus interest but not under cash rebates for credit card spend.

"Insurance payments will be excluded from the awarding of cashback on the UOB One Card but continue to earn bonus interest on the UOB One Account."

Anyone also find that the additional rebate UOB credit to us on every quarter inaccurate?

My statement period runs from the first day to end of the month. Say I receive the credit today, during may statement, does it take the spending for FEB+MAR+APR or MAR+APR+MAY? Regardless, no matter how I count also doesn't match theirs.

tell me about it...

I had a Grab transaction (Grab delivery paid using One card) back in end February that wasn't tagged with a "GRAB" header in the transaction description and UOB said it's not eligible for cashback.

They say the description must clearly state "GRAB" (or other partners like "COLD STORAGE", "GUARDIAN", etc.) before they are recognised for the extra 5% rebate.

Till today still haven't settle... cos the additional rebate was just posted end May.

At the back of my mind I was wondering was it because that time I had used a Grab code voucher to offset the cost - hence it is no longer tagged as Grab transaction? really puzzling.

Lost around $2+ cashback due to that.

UOB cashback system need to constantly monitor and always got potholes here and there... quite mafan.

I hav no problem with UOB one rewards; have been getting 300 per Q for years. Now that they changed to 200 per Q, its still ok , i will still continue.

Just spend as you would normally, dont go and purposely spend zhun zhun 500/1k/2k per month. Common sense to know that hav some "overflow" spend, so that if any refunds/non-qualified spend, you still crossed the line in any case.

also dont count the pennies try to dispute until every single cent also want a rebate for it. If dont get dont get, no point fussing over it, your time and brain cells is worth more than that.

I guess it make sense if spend $50-100 more each quarter to be safe..

If you don't keep track and spend $900 each quarter etc.. will only get back $50 which is 1.85% for the $2700 spend.. if that's the case might as well use other cards..

anyone manage to get UOB to waive off the annual fee?
they call me to say they will appeal for waiver but didn't get back to me for 2wks.
this is the 3rd year in the row they said they will appeal for waiver but didn't get back to me. quite disappointed with the services standard.
will consider cancelling the card if they didn't waive the fee

My quarter Mar to May. They charge me annual fee on 31 Mar. By the time I noticed it under unbilled transactions, have spend for Mar and almost hit min spend for Apr.

Use automated sys to request for waiver. No SMS reply after 2 weeks. I called and was told request for waiver rejected. Request to appeal and they say can only get back in 5 working days ie 28 Apr. Receive SMS that appeal was rejected on 28 Apr.

So I stop spending. In May before due date paid up everything except annual fee then call up to cancel the card on 18 May. On 23 May, the retention unit called to say the annual fee had been waived on 18 May and if I can continue to use the card. 😠 Say they noticed I have been using the card since 2017 blah blah blah.

Told the staff that their delay of waiving has already caused me to lose my quarterly rebate because I had not hit min spend for Apr and even if I did, I only have a few days to hit min spend for May .

Feedback to her that even though it was waived eventually, it leaves bad taste for customers. Why waive only those who wants to cancel the card ? If they are a bit more sincere, they should consider the factors during the appeal.

Has anyone actually ever gotten UOB to waive on appeal?

Generally, if the request for waiver is rejected, I just call to cancel. Almost everytime, the CSO asks if I would consider to retain the card if they waive the fee. Then I just reluctantly agree... :ROFLMAO:

Although a recent one which was a little amusing was the CSO didn't mention anything about waiving the fee, but said she would process the cancellation. But a few days later, I got a call back from the retention team who asked if I would hold onto the card since the bank has already waived the fee. & for my trouble, they are giving me a $5 credit to the account... Ummm, ok...

I used to be able to get waiver on appeal when UOB One was the only UOB credit card I was holding. But this year I also have the UOB Absolute card which I want to retain.

They offered me the $5 credit too. But need to make 1 transaction of any amount.

Anyway, I won't be using UOB One card anytime soon. Think my UOB Absolute card annual fee should be coming in a few months. If they give the same crap about cannot waived unless I cancel one card I will end up losing quarterly rebate again.

My main card is BOC Family card. Suits me well as have rebate on hospital (have cap) which is great because have elderlies at home and need to go polyclinic and hospital frequently.

UOB One I use mainly for SP bill and Grab. But won't really miss it.
