I want to ask, if a UOB credit/debit card has 3 years waiver, then after the 4th year, you cancel that card.

After that, if you reapply for that card again, do you still get another 3 year waiver if they still have that?
depends if there is such an offer

Hi guys,

I have a problem, i have a refund of $1800 posted to this statement month, but it was from last statement month that posted so late…

I chat with CSO and she told me that I can only ask for exception/repeal after my quarter complete, which is 12 Sept.

What do you think the chance of getting exception for that transaction? I have been on $2000 spending category every month.

If your next qtr is 12 Sep, it means currently this 12 July will be ur first month of the next qtr . Only the first of 3 mths, and if I am not wrong , your next qtr will fall into the revised cashback terms of 3.33% max, meaning not $300 anymore, only $200 if u spend 2k for next 3 statements.
i would forgo it , in view of these 2 conditions ( lower rebate as well as being only the first month of your qtr )

and I am guessing nobody in this forum would be able to tell u correctly your exact chance of successful appeal 3 months later.

your current rebate scheme will end when your current quarter finishes. not half way end abruptly.

If card was charged in current month & met the min $500 spend, what if the charged amount gets refunded in the following month, will it count against the previous $500 min spend & so disqualify the min spend criteria?

no, they won't claw back from last month once the statement is generated. but, you will need to meet $1000 this month because of the refund ($500 this month + $500 last month) to continue to qualify for the quarterly rebate.

count against the month it is refunded, need to spend more to make up the spending

I just contacted UOB to help me appeal for an un-qualified spend of $100 on vehicle insurance that cause my cash rebate of 5% for 3 months' spends of 2K each to downgrade to 1K & 3.33% instead. Its a $200 rebate difference! my fault though...an oversight.
Wonder how much success it can turn out for this appeal. bah!

High chance bah... don't worry. First time appealing right? Couple years back I also called in to appeal due to refunds and missed out on $2k spend by a small bit. The CSO said they generally allow appeals like once a year.

They will ask you to top up by spending the difference this month to 'top up'.
