hi guys

thanks for the useful info. Just got my new One account and card set up in late August and trying to earn extra interest. Was unable to link the UOB Lady's card to One account on UOB Internet Banking platform, guess have to call CSO.

Plus, got a nasty shock when I logged into to see I was charged the credit card annual fee even thought it was explicitly stated that first year annual fee is waived. I called the hotline immediately.

p.s. did anyone else think it is a chore to apply for GIRO services with UOB? comparatively with DBS, I was able to apply GIRO payment for many merchants w/o filling in manual forms.

My ONE card statements are on 2 Oct and I have a 30 Sep posted spending that did not make it into the statement. Does anyone know if this spending will be considered for Sep or Oct?

If the 30 Sep spending did not make it into the statement on 2 Oct, I suppose it is posted in 3 Oct. This count to Oct spending for UOB One account bonus interest; and Nov for quarterly rebate as it will be in the statement generated in Nov.

Ah it did get a posted date of 3 Oct. Was expecting it to be the same as my OCBC spending which got a posted date of 30 Sep and also didnt make it into the 30 Sep statement. But OCBC goes by calendar month so I believe it is still considered a Sep spending.

I guess you did not spend for the Oct statement? The cashback will be credited to offset your spendings in later statement(s), till the cashback is fully used up, eg Oct, if not Nov, if not Dec etc

I kena before. I had rebate of $50, but only spend ~$20 in that month, so only the ~$20 appear as rebate, meaning I need to spend another ~$30 for the rebate to be fully redeemed.

The way I view it is that the cash rebate is there to offset your uob one card bill in subsequent month(s). No different from any other cashback card that dun allow you to cash out the cashback and you can only use the cashback for spending. Whether you see the cash rebate is credited to the card out front or later dun matter, the cashback is there ready to be used and reflected in the rewards summary section of the statement.

My statement quarter is June, July, Aug. Statement date is end of month. Due date is around 20th of the month.

So Aug bill is paid at 20th Sept. Paid in full. Cashback is credited in 30 Sept, which you only see it in Sept's bill in Oct.

i had been consistently using my uob one, so that havent occur to me, but in future it may.

for other cards, the rebate will appear as positive balance.

so can i confirm that for uob, it will not appear at all unless u use the card after the quarter? let's say if u earn $50 rebate, after the quarter, if u

- spend nothing, u see no rebate (but that $50 remains for future deduction)

- spend 20, u only see 20 rebate (with 30 remaining for future deduction)

- only if u spend 50 or more, then u see all 50 being rebate.

rite?

Dropped this card altogether.

Hard to maintain $500 spending and if you exceed but didn't touch the next tier you wasted all rebates on the excess.

Whole year with random month missing the $500 mark due to spending paid to online rebate CC etc.

Tracking rebates is indeed a hassle. But overall by linking with a saving account you can earn like spend 500 get 100. That's a very good deal.
