Well that's what I'm trying to say. If you have no control, should you be using something that you have no control to control and manage the rebates.

Is this fair to consumer. We cannot be doing a lucky draw like spending. This is the point to MAS!
most ppl here can play by uob rules fine, i couldnt hit a spending by a few dollars before and lost a quarter but the T&C was clear and I accepted that "loss" even though i called for appeal.

you are such a special snowflake, wasting mas time with a complaint on rebates

i hope u get nothing out of this

Those that were eligible spent for the rebates. As we know, UOB One card has added so many exclusion over the years that now it look more like Selected Spend than "All Spend".

We cannot be spending and spending without knowing if which are NOT eligible. Their CS don't know either.

Think only the part on government services need more clarity, other than that think the exclusion are quite clear.

So what exactly did you spend on that was excluded and UOB refused to be flexible about it?

Thank you.
Nobody want to waste anybody's time if we have some other avenue to highlight the issues.

Unfortunately there's no one to bring up the issue to except the authority.

You can accept the lost but we can't for the fact that the amount spent are not small.

We asked for a full list be it exclusion / inclusion list. MCC code can be erroneous as mentioned.

Yes. Sing Post, Sing Power, etc and the billing dates.

Their advertising as " ALL Spend" is getting more misleading as their exclusion list starts to grow.

There's also the refund ambush that we have no control over. We have also experienced a large amount of refund for a transaction that went through and then was recharged again in the following month by a merchant.

These are the things that we have no controls.

T&C are also one sided as they have the rights to change without warning.

u have a choice, u can don't "play their game"
when u want to earn their rewards, u have to follow their rules

if what u've done is considered eligible under their t&c, then u should fight for it
if it's not, then u can only hope they give it out of gd will liao

Thought they no longer advertise as "all spent"?

They did give at least 1 month notice following ABS guidelines.

Which merchant refund and charge again? Can they actually do that?

Spent 2k for each statement cycle (on SP Services, SingPost?) over 3 statement cycles (total spent 6k) and being denied cash rebates of 300?

We suspect they took it down recent as when we view it in April before we sent our feedback, its still there.

1 month notice on ? There is this problem on the "posting dates" mechanism.

Merchant has many reasons to refund and recharge a transaction so no one have control over these.

To penalise consumer on these technicality with genuine spending is the issues. A control mechanism cannot be used to manage something that no one can control.

If the rules are precise and not govern by something that cannot be controlled.

To be fair to consumers, they need to provide a very specific list and if they find it impossible, than how can we possibly tell which is in and which is out ?

Just wrote to MAS to make a feedback on UOB. Very unethical to ambush and refuse the $300 on more than $6k spent over 3 months.

No one has control over MCC. We are demanding for a full list of excluded merchants / spending as it will be very unfair for consumers to trail and error and keep spending.

We have experience from another bank that say spending for hospital and clinics are eligible but when we spend at National Heart Centre one day, the MCC code differ. It seems like they used an internet code though we pay are the counter.

However, this bank were able to be flexible unlike UOB. They on one want to enforce strictly on their T&C but yet their T&Cs are not very clear.

They wrote back to seek our understanding that they do not "have control" over the MCC.

Our point is if you do not have control, than you should not use something that you do not have control to control and manage the rebates.
What is the email address to comprain such matters?

Yes, that's why many banks will still honour upon appeal for deals that were advertised but turned out to be a different MCC because those advertised benefits were not totally within their control due to MCC.

But UOB is a dishonourable bank. Many including myself have suffered from their sneaky upwards revision of UNI$ redemption requirement and hence cheapened past uni$ collected after loyally spending their card for some time with big transactions. I don't expect them not to play hard with every line of their T&C

I have since withdrew majority of my funds (left $500 in their account for backup only) and terminated most of their credit cards which they refused to waive the annual fees.

i remember they said SP services are counted, their tnc exclusions are very clear, only government services and town councils are excluded from eligible spend starting end Feb.

I think you missed the cycle because of the refund.

Yup, there are rare occasion but yes. Amazon Prime somehow refund some money as they thought goods not delivered. Likely delivery contractor did not use their apps correctly.

Called them that goods were delivered and they will charge again.

This type of ambush we can't control.

You can only know when you receive the bill but it is too late.

For other CC, the risk is only for that month spending so you can write them off if you want. For this card, it is accumulative of 3 months spending.
