can quarterly qualifying period be different from the statement date? i have called cso to align the qualifying period to calendar month and calendar quarters (ie jan-mar, apr-jun, etc) for easy tracking but i just realised my statement date is 12th of the month.. does that matter? or i can safely assume that the qualifying period is as per calendar?

UOB will align the statement date to end of month so that you can just track your monthly spent (1st to last day of each month for posted transactions).

you just need to clarify with them the transition month.

say for example, your statement date is 12th of Oct, they may tell you that the new qualifying month will be from 13 to 30 October, and then next month will be from 1 November to 30 November, and so on. so you may have to bear with a shorter qualifying month.

or they may tell you the current qualifying month will be from 13 October to 30 November, which means you have more than a month to clock up the min. spend.

either way, just confirm with them. I can't remember what happened to mine already (a few years ago).

They can only generate 1 statement in Oct so if the change is made before 12 Oct, the Oct statement will be 13th Sep to end of Oct. If change is made after 12 Oct the Nov month statement will be 13th 0ct to end of Nov. Either way better to clarify which one it is.

yeah this makes sense, I think that's what happened to me (I can't recall whether I made the request before or after the statement date).

hmm i thought it was pretty weird because the change was made at least 4 months ago but i only recently downloaded the statements and realised that the statements are dated 12th

As in you requested change of statement date to end of month but the change was not implemented?

yep, i requested for the qualifying period(s) to be aligned with statement month. which by now qualifying period should also mean statement date

but i did note that my first prorated quarterly rebates were pretty accurate with my records

Not sure if anyone tried before, will using the cc to pay for cfa exam fees count towards eligible spending? Since this is educational but not local education institution.

Otherwise, am I able to call up to verify after transaction is posted? Thanks!

How do I find my statement date? Is it my payment due date?
How do I judge when a quarter starts and ends for the 3 months rebate?

You can find it in your statement under Rewards Summary, it should be the last sentence:
*Your qualifying period for quarterly rebates is (1) XXX to XXX (2) XXX to XXX (3) XXX to XXX and (4) XXX to XXX

do i get additional 5% on grabpay topup if my monthly spend is above 2000? Or it is 5% capped to 2000 dollars?

You should get 5% on the first $2000 spent for the usual rebate and additional 5% on the first $2000 on grab. These two can be the same spend or mutually exclusive.
