$500?! Sh*t! I should have just stuck to my ANZ Travel. At least no min rubbish.

Your current quarter will not be affected, so not sure what you mean by "should have just..." You can always choose to switch to ANZ Travel when the new scheme kicks in, if this is what you prefer.

I just applied for this card 3 months ago & now the min spend goes up.

Think it depends on the card opened month. If card opened month is Jan, Apr, Jul or Oct, the first complete qualifying quarter effective after 1 Oct 2015 will be be Oct, Nov,Dec. The statement in Oct will include posted transaction from Sep after the Sep statement.

If card opened month is Mar, Jun, Sep, Dec, the first complete qualifying quarter effective after 1 Oct 2015 will be be Dec, Jan ,Feb. ie spending in the Oct and Nov statement will be under the current TnC, new TnC kicks in only in Dec statement (which includes posted transactions in Nov after the Nov statement)

This is good, without the hassle of remembering spending category, $100 rebate/ month, coupled with one account, $200+ /month.

All they need to do is allow tiers of 300,500,800 and 1500

I will say this move are bad for many ppl who just want to spend 300

this is also a bad move for uob as uob will fail to occupy a previous market that is only for uob. there are so many cards with min spend of 500, who on earth so stupid will want to subject themselves to quarter spend, possibility of missing entire interest, not the highest interest, and slow and clawback service, if not for the min spend of 300?

This move is to align the card with the One acct. If you spend $500 now on the credit card, you get $101.25 monthly interest for the UOB one acct($50k) and a $16.70 monthly rebate from your credit card. That is like spending $500 a month and getting $117.92 back(23.58% rebate).

Much better than the inefficient $800 or $300 previously.

You can't compare directly like that, both are very different, you get one from savings, the other from spending.

I also can say that i get 3.2% from OCBC 360, and 6% from Frank card. 3.2% of $60k savings is $160 monthly. 6% of $500 spending is $30. So am i right to say that total cashback is $190 (38%)? Don't use UOB altogether. Can't be right?

Im just saying its much better than the inefficient $300/$800 previously if you want to spend $500 to get the full 2.43% from UOB One $50k.

Previously you either spend $300 and ignore the interest bonus for UOB one acct or spend $800 to get the full 2.43% but get a lousier rebate from the card.

adding the 500 tier is
removing the 300 and 800 tier is not.

"Your qualifying period for quarterly rebates is (1) December to February (2) March to May (3) June to August and (4) September to November."

So, new system starts in Dec 2015. 3 months for preparation.
