UOB One is my primary CC for the 1st $500 spending.

Recently called UOB to waive AF. Made use of their automated system and I got the waiver immediately.

You pay in time each month? Track record also part of the consideration.

Err...I never need to speak to any of their CSO...Just call their hotline, leave my details and next day or so they will send SMS to inform successful waiver of annual fee... :s22:

Dunno why you guys find it tough...

Getting a fee waiver rejection from UOB or OCBC is like seeing a ghost. You won't believe it until you see it for yourself.

Unfortunately, from the comments in this forum, OCBC never learned about retaining customers and tends to be very calculative over late fees and interest charges.

UOB is also quite silly with its rejection for waiver requests done over the phone. The good thing is writing in after the initial rejections generally works. (UOB is still dumb though as man efforts could have been saved if they had just waived annual fees generously like some other banks.)

UOB is infact the worst bank service provider in Singapore.

I don't relate my story here but to give affirmation.

I think it depends on how much is your spending.

Mine spending was average $600 with UOB One. And I have the One account.

So I got the waiver this year.

UOB ONE gives more incentive than OCBC 360 for my case, but after signing up for uob.. it's so bad that I closed the UOB account.

Reasons:
1. Their app is horrendous. Crashes, I set up mighty app but somehow the app forgot about it and require me to set up twice.
2. Need to go to actual atm to activate an account instead of OTP via phone number.
3. Frequent marketing calls to me during office hours. Rage!!

No issue with UOB yet although only customer with them for 1 year+
Managed to get instant fee waiver via phone request without needing to speak to CSO.

Never spent $12k either. Must be my luck shining on me

Their service is only good for the premium cards. Usually if you hold their VI or Solitaire card, you get to a CSO very quickly and requests are attended to very promptly.

For their normal cards, I agree the service is lackluster.

They don't refund dcc fees if there's a reversal charge unlike many other banks.

They also like to send spam snail mails like blank cheque for personal loans, enticing people to take up. I don't see any other banks sending so many spam snail mails like them.

They are also known to scam the elderly into investing saying principal guaranteed but it isn't. Check the news and you'll see many uob bankers getting charged for fraud and such.

Overall they are an unethical and money grabbing bank.
