For those who are trying to clock points on other UOB cards and than getting the cash rebate back on UOB Visa Signature, you can give up. I redeemed a sizeable amount as I had quite a fair bit of points consolidated on other cards.

UOB just came back, and informed me that they will refund me a significant amount of the points, and only pay out for those that were from my Visa Signature.

Just so you all don't go through the hoops like me.

Hmmm....that's why I suggested that forum members not entangle with UOB regarding certain issues related to awarding of UNI$ when the interpretation of the T&Cs might be in their (bank's) favour. UOB can at any time claw back their UNI$ just as they clawed back your redemption of cash from UNI$ not earned through Visa Signature.

Thanks. Saw the GBP posted already. So no issue.

Going to apply for UOB Privi now. =)

Do check your UNI$ awarded. As posted above, I had to phone in to get my 9x UNI$ for my transactions even though on the statement they are listed in foreign currency (JPY and GBP). I seem to be the only one affected on this forum though.

OK to update. The CSO called back and said that I did not get the UNI$ because the payment gateway is based in Singapore. But they will credit the bonus UNI$ manually. That was for my JPY transactions. They "forgot" about my GBP transactions. So they will get back to me again. Do you think I am so unlucky as to have both payment gateways "based in Singapore"?

What merchant was this? Seems strange unless you were buying two tix on SQ, one ex-Japan and one ex-UK. :)

Not airline tickets.

One was a travel agency in Japan (paying for my year-end holiday in JPY). The other one was an insurance agency in UK (GBP transaction for landlord insurance). They did give me back the 9x UNI$ in the end.

Okay have confirmed that my forex transactions for the Japan holiday were not tagged because the payment gateway is based in Singapore. Their system requires the transaction to be made in FCY as well as charged overseas. Mine was an exceptional case. They have creditted the 9x UNI $
manually.

The catch is that you need overseas spending of at least $1000 to get the 10x UNI$ for overseas transactions. And minimum overall spend of $1000 (foreign or local) to get 10x UNI$ for the petrol. That's my undertanding of the T&Cs.

If your spending straddles close to the end of one billing cycle and the beginning of the next, you have to be careful of the posted date of the transactions. For overseas spending, the date that is posted may be a few days after the actual transaction date. And that may lead to you losing your 10x UNI$.

Knn, I apply this card , got it late Nov, then start using it hopefully can achieve that $1000 mark, but unfortunately, the bill came faster then my purchase, bill came ard first week of Dec. Which the billing circle not even 1 month. Haiz.. Should have use others card instead.

Doesn't sound right to me. I have paypal transactions in foreign currency which should also appear as local payment gateway and i got the 10x.

I think that it used the same paymeent gateway as Paypal except that I didn't make the transaction through Paypal. Somehow there was something in their computer system that didn't classify it correctly. Anyway at least they acknowledged that it was a computer system issue on their end and gave me the UNI$ in the end.

How does cash rebate work for this card. Do they credit in the rebates every month?

But please don't use UNI$ that are not earned on the Visa Signature card to claim for the rebate under this 2000 UNI$ for $5 rate or they will reject it. UNI$ earned on other UOB cards cannot be used for this rebate. The rebate is not immediate. It takes a few weeks as per the T&Cs.

hmmm..seems like I got all 10x UNI$ this statement, no need to wait for next statement like the T&C says. :s12:

Just a note that min 2000 UNI$ for each claim. so those target slightly less than $2000 spending one like me have to wait next round to claim the 2nd $50 rebate :(

How long does it roughly take for the rebate to be credited?

I already mentioned previously, take 1.5months for mine to be credited but i redeem before spending so that might be the reason for it taking a bit longer, maybe can get within the same month if already spend before redeem.

For my overseas spending of around S$2K in first week of Dec 2013, the additional 9X UNI$ was posted during first week of Jan 2014.

They didn't just changed that. UOB also increased the redemption numbers required for almost all their stuff. Typical increase seems to be in the range of 10%.
