Apple, Tesla, DocuSign And 12 Others In Morgan Stanley's 'Secular Growth Stocks' Lineup For 2021
December 03, 2020

for reference

The investment bank, which recently upgraded Tesla to Overweight, said the electric vehicle maker is anticipated to generate a “higher percentage of revenue from recurring/high-margin services revenue.”

Amazon has benefited from the COVID-19 pandemic and is well-positioned for the post-pandemic era with the expansion of its fulfillment and shipping network, as per Morgan Stanley. Advertising, subscriptions, and cloud segment seeing fast growth also contributes to the bank’s outlook of the e-commerce giant.

Apple’s addition is primarily based on the outlook for the new line of 5G iPhones, as per CNBC. Morgan Stanley also sees Google parent Alphabet as a secular growth play based on advertising segment and video streaming through YouTube.

Docusign Inc. (NASDAQ: DOCU) also features as a secular play, having established as the leader of the $25 billion+ eSignature market, Morgan Stanley reportedly noted.

Other secular growth stocks listed by the investment bank, as per CNBC, include:

Chewy Inc. (NYSE: CHWY)
Datadog Inc. (NASDAQ: DDOG)
Equinix Inc. (NASDAQ: EQIX)
Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ FB)
Lulumelon Athletica Inc. (NASDAQ: LULU)
Mastercard Inc. (NYSE: MA)
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT)
Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ NFLX)
Prologis Inc. (NYSE: PLD)
Salesforce.com Inc. (NYSE: CRM)

Johnson & Johnson: Reasonably Valued, High-Quality Dividend King
02 December 2020

Income-oriented investors should stay away from highly cyclical companies, which go through boom-and-bust cycles and incur a collapse in their earnings during downturns.

The current yield of 2.7% is higher than the 1.6% dividend yield of the S&P 500. Moreover, Johnson & Johnson has a healthy dividend payout ratio of 50% while it has a rock-solid balance sheet, with an AAA credit rating.

The broad market has retrieved all its pandemic-driven losses and has posted new all-time highs lately. Consequently, it has become extremely hard to identify high-quality stocks at a reasonable valuation. Johnson & Johnson is a bright exception, as it is trading at a price-to-earnings ratio of 18.

This valuation may not be cheap but it is certainly reasonable for a company with such an exceptional growth record and resilience to downturns. Therefore, Johnson & Johnson is a great candidate for income-oriented investors.

I saw this stock today LUMN with 9% dividend yield, it look beaten down too

maybe due to its biz and profits. cut dividends

Lumen has struggled in recent years with competition as well as profitability. The Level 3 acquisition has seen the company’s share count double in the past couple of years. In addition, it took on another $13 billion in debt with the transaction onto a balance sheet that was already in poor shape.
Following the dividend cut in early 2019, we do not believe management will raise the payout anytime soon given the aggressive leverage target of around 3.0 times EBITDA.

This Japanese Shop Is 1,020 Years Old. It Knows a Bit About Surviving Crises.
Published Dec. 2, 2020
Updated Dec. 3, 2020

By putting tradition and stability over profit and growth, Ichiwa has weathered wars, plagues, natural disasters, and the rise and fall of empires. Through it all, its rice flour cakes have remained the same.

To survive for a millennium, Ms. Hasegawa said, a business cannot just chase profits. It has to have a higher purpose. In the case of Ichiwa, that was a religious calling: serving the shrine’s pilgrims.

Those kinds of core values, known as “kakun,” or family precepts, have guided many companies’ business decisions through the generations. They look after their employees, support the community and strive to make a product that inspires pride.

For Ichiwa, that means doing one thing and doing it well — a very Japanese approach to business.

The company has declined many opportunities to expand, including, most recently, a request from Uber Eats to start online delivery. Mochi remains the only item on the menu, and if you want something to drink, you are politely offered the choice of roasted green tea.

other countries pride its traditions.
over here, dunno lah. evyday G only know how to tell sinkies to skills future but how good are the success is anyone's guess.

December 4, 2020

Aditya Raghunath
Fri, December 4, 2020, 5:58 PM GMT+8·2 min read

Microsoft Corporation’s (NASDAQ: MSFT) recently launched cloud-based analytics tools, Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Purview, targeting enterprise data warehousing.

icrosoft’s new products are taking on Amazon Inc’s (NASDAQ: AMZN) cloud platform AWS and cloud-based data warehouse Snowflake Inc (NYSE: SNOW).

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said, “Today, we are generating data faster than we are able to understand it.” Microsoft hopes to grab this opportunity and explore the feasibility of its analytical and governance tools, as per Bloomberg.

Purview is not only a data governance software but also works effectively with security and compliance features of third-party cloud service providers like AWS, says Bloomberg.

Thanks! That does sound quite bad. The other high but stable dividend stock, I have been eyeing is Altria after reading the reports you uploaded. in the long term tho, I don’t see gen z (US) smoking that much unless the regulation for selling flavoured e-cigarettes is relaxed. Really must research more

yes cannot simply look at dividend yield. other factors oso important.

but why do u think new gen will smoke less?
it seems to me like a social ill which the gamen cannot easily control. even if US can control, other 3rd world cannot control easily.

dunno whether tabaco politics still is an influence in US erections.

Notable Insider Buys of the Past Week: Foot Locker, Icahn Enterprises, Kraft Heinz And More
December 6, 2020

Conventional wisdom says that insiders and 10% owners really only buy shares of a company for one reason — they believe the stock price will rise and they want to profit from it. So insider buying can be an encouraging signal for potential investors, particularly when there is uncertainty in the markets, as there was before and after the elections and as the pandemic worsens.

  • Foot Locker, Inc. (NYSE: FL)
  • American Homes 4 Rent (NYSE: ANH)
  • Multiplan Corp (NYSE: MPLN)
  • Kraft Heinz Co (NASDAQ: KHC)
  • American Assets Trust, Inc (NYSE: AAT)
  • Icahn Enterprises LP (NASDAQ: IEP)

Tesla Describes Itself As 'Majority-Minority' Company In First US Diversity Report
December 05, 2020

https://www.tesla.com/sites/default/files/downloads/2020-DEI-impact-report.pdf

What's Next: The company said its main goal is to “increase representation of all under-represented groups” in 2021. It also said it would be hiring from historically Black colleges and universities.

tesla is one company i respect a lot for wht dey are trying to achieve, although i dun like their shares volatility.
sometimes i think dis diversity is getting too much :s22:
