sorry bro,
4. Its a stock I will never touch, I hate mlm.
My advice is to sell it at a loss if you can stomach, but don't take advice from the internet.

these listed MLM all same pattern
Stock ride up in hype and early stage of MLM then slowly crash back down
HLF is one
NUS Nu Skin is another..
not singapore NUS hor

I second that, especially for HLF poor performance, just take the loss and go to a better stock with better FA...

lol +40%. like that can go back to $10 soon haha
(vested at $1.5)

wahahaha i was thinking hard whether to go into FXCM yday.. decided that i missed the 45% run up, so skipped.
#%!$!$!$^@#! should i just bite the bullet and invest small small? =:p

Oh Please share more european stocks too!
I know this thread is for USA stocks, but given than Euro gonna have a big QE for this year... i think many european stocks would be boosted a lot.
please share if u have any insights, or done homework for good FA (or TA).

thanks!

Apologies, as I am not very familiar with European stocks (yet), which is why I went for a general exposure to Europe and Asia Pacific ETF (VEA). :)

I did spend some cursory time on LSE counters such as Rio Tinto, Royal Dutch Shell and British Amercian Tobacco, but did not go further in.

the good thing abt Euro QE is that we can use history as a rough gauge. 2009 USA QE till now, yeah usd drop, but stocks chiong a lot leh...

history is for reference, not a good forecaster, but is as close as we can get to predicting future.

Anyway, remember when USD starts to plunge due to qe, I exchanged more usd. Now it's Euro's qe, need me to tell you what to do? *hint*

Anyway, not responsible for any wrong interpretation of above hint, =)

Sometimes simple economic theories could explain what may happen next. Although QE is bond buying, but basically it is a form of "money printing", and when there is a flood of money floating around, the value of it will drop as compared to the monies of other countries. These monies were then circulated into the economy to promote growth, and to prevent the hoarding of it (and borrow more to use it), interest rates would have to be lowered.

What programs should I use for US stocks? Similar to chartnexus?

Where do you guys get your news on a particular stock from, any particular website/forum?

Dunno about charting programs but seeking alpha is pretty awesome for particular US stocks whether it's news or analysis. For me, the most important part is the comments on the analysis.

finviz.com is ridiculously good for a free service.
as far as charting, I like tradingview.com (not free)

For charting package, can try the free version of Ninjatrader. It has free EOD for stocks, future and forex. A standalone charting package beats those online version hands down in terms of speed and flexibility. Of course you must learn the scripting for screening and backtesting. If you flip through all the daily charts then a standalone charting package is highly recommended plus all the customize filters.

Apple

Apple stock has been rising like crazy! Curious...after they make their announcement tomorrow...will it settle down more? Don't know whether to buy more now...concerned it could be mainly excitment about the announcement. Having said that...there's speculations that they will announce a higher divident

Not really rising like crazy, of the blue chips, LMT is the outstanding performer for the past 2 year. Super regret I sold at $120...

the USD should be steadily rising barring any major events. What is your concern regarding?

Currency doesn't affect stock price, it affects company performances. Especially those with high international exposure like PM. A rising USD would make it's performance look worst than it really is as $$ are convert to USD for accounting.

Anyway, tonight 3M! another one of the behemoth I can't wait to buy ,reporting earnings. according to research, it will beat earnings due to strong 3rd quarter performances. Looks like I might have to wait even longer before dipping in.
