Sharing my last month experience. I got error after registered MDCA website, [You are not eligible to use the e-gate facility. Please proceed to the manual counter.] although i already register at manual counter before. I tried to go through egate but failed so i went to manual counter again and no problem to access egate. However, my friend who was ex-Malaysian was told forever cannot use egate at the manual counter. Is it true? Any ex-Malaysian able to use egate here?
TBH before the latest registration system, I've never gone to check if I'm eligible. I went to register just a few days after they started MACS2.0. Then went in twice within that week to test the eGates.

I'd say on an average of 10 times I encountered rejection twice, but still managed to enter after retrying a couple of times.

Anyway, now it's easier with the designated counters. Just go there if you encounter problem too many times. They would be in a better position to tell you the reason for rejection. A friend had fingerprint issue and the officer helped to rescan a few times until successful.

As for ex-Malaysians, there are some who managed to register and use the eGates. But that's before these designated counters started there. Not sure about now but will it really be forever is anyone's guess.

Hope things will change when it's more stabilized bah...

Has anyone successfully registered for e-gate from 2nd link checkpoint? I went two months ago and was told that the system was under upgrade and unable to do any registration for e-gate.

My experience:

Went in yesterday (Wed) afternoon around 3pm. There was no queue in the hall. So went up straight to the counter in between the two mac banner to register the MDAC for e-gate use. After fingerprinting, lady directed me to use the e-gate straight away.

Used the ones on the left side of the hall since it is nearer. Scanned and went thru no issues.

When exiting, also used the left side hall, first scanner failed to let me thru with error, changed to another scanner and this time can leave.

Need to register in this weblink: https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main before entering JB?

Yes need.

Submit MDAC online within 3 -day of visit timeframe.
Then go to the special counter in between the Mac banners to let them do fingerprint. Then straight away use.

MACS2.0 is version 2.0 of the Malaysia Automated Clearance System.

MDAC is the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card. This is just the DIGITAL version of the old old WHITE CARD aka ARRIVAL CARD that travelers fill up whenever they visit a foreign country. It's nothing alien unless you've never left Singapore all these years of your life (before some have gone digital, or you've been exempted for some reason/s).

So yes, this is the arrival card that you HAVE to fill up in order to travel to JB using the eGates. EVERY TIME. 👌

Went in on last Sat...surprising the custom officer took my fingerprint and say register already. Check online yesterday, shows not eligible for e-gate. Today tried using e-gate cannot go through. At manual counter ask what happen...tell me now system offline. Make me blur...but anyway not a very long queue today. Will try again some other time.
Funny, do submit MDAC, the officer asked me if I have done my finger verification/registration, I said nope. Then told me only can register on weekdays, weekend is closed. I asked the MDAC counter about where to go for finger registration, one of the officers told me to go to middle counter, but I blurred don't know what signboard got mentioned for finger verification or any counter. And what next . . Anyone have experienced, please advise to avoid the hassle of waiting for next . .

Register today and able to use egate immediately after that.

However, only two counter (extreme left) is open for fingerprint registration and each person take about 5mins to register, many try two to three tries before fingerprint accepted and saw at least 4 was turn away due to fingerprint issue. About 20 pax Infront of me and waited about 1.5hrs before my turn.
Hi, can advise which counter to go for finger registration, can I tried use egate after finger registration on the same day, but I saw the guideline is that first timer do verification can only by manual only can use egate on next arrival and departure. . . Not sure if the registration is good for the egate entry. The steps never mentioned need for finger registration and only open for weekday only . .

Post in thread 'Johor Bahru - share is caring - Part 2'
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/johor-bahru-share-is-caring-part-2.6144700/post-149290779

See these first 2 photos for the schedule given for MACS2.0 registration, and the designated counter/s to go.

Friend followed the above for his renewed passport and was asked to go use the eGates to enter right after registration. Smooth entry and exit thereafter.

Always remember to file MDAC and any problem using the eGates, just follow the schedule and head to the above.

(IMO if you've any intention to use the eGates, go get the registration done ASAP; we'll never know how long they'll continue to have such designated counters operating...) Go during off peak hours like 1+pm or 2+pm on a weekday, you should be able to get an answer to the issue if you've any rejection reason in particular or fingerprint already impossible to register...

Go to the extreme left counter next to the senior citizen gate. The queue is much slower due to fingerprint registration. Once the fingerprint registered, you will usher to use the egate immediately but remember to submit the MDAC form prior to that. The fingerprint counteropen only mon to thu (someone mentioned previously)

Do u mean that submit MDAC within 3 days before going MY. Then I go to manual counter there to do finger registration and can start use egate for arrivals and departure on the same day instead of what the notice mention for only use egate on the next travel?

I just went in last weekend using e-gate. Last time the extreme right side was mainly for sg passport people with e-gate eligibility but this week i saw almost all is malaysian passport people using the egate at the right side. Luckily i went through without issue.

Is there still "dedicated" e-gates for sg people to use? can sg people use the e-gate? (closest to the escalator side)
