Reading https://www.sgmytaxi.com/egate-malaysia-guide/, for first-timers need to go thru manual counter to register 1st? Also need MDAC? young kid as long as above 120cm can also use egate?
The info is no longer valid.

There's no registration requirements nor need to submit MDAC. Go straight to use the E-Gate, don't disturb the Officers at the Manual Counters.

Age wise - I don't know how young but must be 120cm height.

E-Gates at JB & KLIA are allowed to use... E-Gates at other places eg Penang cannot use.

2nd Link eGates are those 3 on the right of the front building. Sometimes only 2 are open, but there will normally be staff helping for SG>JB ones.

Expect to queue with tourists there, since most tour buses go through there.

Counter officers there seem to prefer SG passport holders to use the eGates, so go directly to queue there and only approach the counters if the eGate rejects you for any reason.

Holders of Singapore PR can also use the E-Gate, so long as they register using the MDAC. I have someone who was informed by the imigresen officer to register the MDAC and was able to use the E-Gate immediately, A Singapore PR who is not Malaysian.
