Hey guys, I will be entering Malaysia via klia and exiting via jb custom. Anyone know if there will be any issues using the auto gate?
Should be ok, as these 2 are "designated" (lack of a better word) locations for E-Gate vs for example Penang's E-Gate cannot use for non MY.

New passport and never go malaysia for a couple years already.
Managed to go thru the e-gate successfully.
However, I did register for MDAC in case it is needed.

Yes, now can just go and use egate without going online.

My friend who previously failed MDAC application can also use the egate without problems now.

Can we enter Malaysia via immigration counter and stamp passport and exit via e-Gate? or vice versa?

Are they still sticky on 2 immigration chops for each visit?

Still need both arrival and departure immigration chops for each visit

I approached MY's Immigration Counter (not the manual-stamping-passports counter) & asked 3 Officers sitting within about non SGs using E-Gate:

- for AUS: can use E-Gate but must submit MDAC first
- for IDN: cannot use E-Gate

Didn't ask about the rest of the nationalities.

There's a list somewhere, someone (here or FB) shared the website a couple of weeks back. I didn't take notice of the rest, though.

Indonesians still have to submit MDAC. Happened to an acquaintance just the other month.

YMMV, yes and no

locally in JB checkpoints, during the early days of e-Gate, the car counters would be a little perplexed inside their booth when they can't find either my entry or exit stamps then their little spiny wheel icon will show up and after a while they remember about their own new system, then upon realization, they just chop, maybe write down "entry via e-gate" or ask to see my MDAC, that was when initial registration and MDAC was still required"

if you want to skip a manual stamp, i highly recommend still filling out your MDAC.

While technically you don't need matching entry and exit stamps, as last time, don't have computer system to keep electronic track of all entries and exits, passport stamps are the only way to verify that you did enter and leave the country, but now, it's all monitored in an electronic database. so by right, you don't need to stamp and or have a complete set.... BUT.... some people's thinking don't keep up with times BUT most of the time, unless you are really unlucky, you should only have a slight delay when exiting non JB or KLIA Malaysia Customs if you entered Malaysia without an entry stamp.

can they turn legally you back? yes,
will they? that depends on your luck and your ability to manipulate the situation.

With e-Gate now do we still have to queue 1 - 2 hours at Malaysia CIQ side?

Currently i'm only going JB if i managed to get train tickets, but with eGate now is the queueing situation at JB side better?
