Tried using my phone's QR code on the returning trip yesterday and yes, it worked. But I still don't see any significant improvement like in time taken, except maybe to lessen the wear and tear rate of our 10-year passports.

And the irony of facing a "no usage of phones" sign while leaving...

I tried it today for 4 person. Setup for 4 of us under 1 group and used the 1 QR code generated for the group to scan at scanner after selecting 4 person at the scanner screen.

After which the first gate open and the 4 of us all go inside the face scanning area. The camera will prompt the 4 of us ( 1 by 1) to have our face scanned. The second gate will open after all 4 face scan pass. For some reason, the face scanning at this new scanner is super fast. In fact it is even faster than Malaysia egate face scanner, which is already fast.

Summary: time will definitely be reduced for group as only need to scan 1 QR code for all personnel instead of the old way of scanning 4 times (if 4 person) and the super fast face scanning.

For a single person it was also fast ie faster than previously using Passport to scan; but not sure whether it is faster than MY's

It is faster. My wife and 2 children all say faster than Malaysia egate. I also agreed.

Imagine when the screen shows your name to step up in front of the camera. U position yourself on the footprint on the floor. Next the camera screen shows the outline of human figure where u need to be positioned on. And in less than 1 sec pass liao. In fact once the screen shows the outline of human figure appear, it already capture and pass, didn’t even need to wait. U Position yourself on the footprint, look up the camera, camera screen comes up, pass liao. Tried both departure and arrival at woodlands and both time same.

Im the first to go for face scanning and mine took the longest around 3 sec. My wife and 2 children all took less than 1 sec as mentioned above.

**im using the “new scanner” whereby u need to select 1 to 4 person before scanning the QR code. The normal one cannot select how many person as it is only for 1 person. If u tried scanning group QR code at this counter, it will fail. This normal counter can only scan QR code generated for 1 person only.

Then join the manual q. Get your ppt stamped. I usually did that when visiting Batam.

Haven't heard of anyone experiencing this.
Try submitting MDAC see if it fixes.

Do you hold a Singapore passport? Try to submit the MDAC.

Malaysia Jb custom installed a whole lot of autogate at the left side of the hall.

These new autogate’s camera are located on the left of the gate instead of on right side for the old gates. These new gates are noticeably faster than the old ones when scanning passport.

Previous old gate passport scanning takes a while while we wait for the bar to complete. This new gate once scanned will show personal details and gate will open and no bar will be shown. Face scanning speed similar to old gate speed.

Directions to the new set of autogates indicate that they are for Malaysians, but I have no doubt that they work for other passports too.
