Arcade moneychangers are licensed. They wont risk giving u one fake note.

Anyway, some advice for u if u are going for the first time:

1) Spend some time to familiarise the notes. 20k vnd and 500k vnd blue blue look similar. Different size only. Newbies sometimes give 500k vnd as 20k

2) Arcade gives u 16,150. I teach u how to get 16,270 in HCMC. Tomorrow u go Arcade, look for the cheapest USD. Lets say u can get 1.4260/70 sgd to 1 usd. Remember to buy new 100 usd note. Must be new note and 100 USD. Ha Tam is taking USD at 23,200 and sometimes early morning, they buy ur USD @ 23,330. 23200/1.4260 = 16,269

unless we have a comparison of the actual rates, it is better not to jump to conclusion. :)

singapore is the world's renowned financial centre. many people come here for holiday, shopping...and *laundry* :)

1) never an issue because i never got 500k notes until this arcade place gave them to me. regretted for not asking for 100k.

2) i always carry some USD to vietnam because i know if you need dong in remote areas and if you give SGD, the people will look at you with eyes big big! despite the unpleasant past, vietnamese still worship america and USD gets better rates. vietnam is a huge country, i wouldn't want to make benh thanh the first stop in my every itinerary. :)

Ha Tam always better, here cant fight. Al least few 100s lower.
