How about lodging for the driver?
Driver settle himself? Include in the 9m?
How many hours from dalat to hcm with the mini bus?

Ya, he settled himself...lodging and meals, whether he sleeps in his bus or what we don't know. So in the sense is inclusive in 9m. As I mentioned, for some meals, we do invite him to join us, it's not expensive anyway.

The journey took about 8 hrs, luckily last part towards HCM there is a new highway, which helps a lot. We stops along the way. It was pretty scenic.

Hanoi Airport transfer

Hi, would like to know what other modes of transportation is available from Noi Bai International Airport to Old Quarters. We'll are considering the Oriental Central Hotel/ some hotel in the same vicinity. Anyone can advise transportation options (other than taxis)? Don't mind walking a little as we will be travelling light.

In addition, heard that there is airport shuttle, but seems like there's varying price, anyone can advise?

came back from my hcm trip. Some things to note:

if you r flying to hcm, land at tan son nhat airport ...
rmb to print your hardcopy itinenary or save them on your mobile phone ....

saw few singaporeans, they were there, the immigration told them ...
where is your return ticket ???
in the end, they tried to connect internet from airport, but is useless...no signal
. in the end, they have to buy a sim card to access their itinenary ...
price is 10usd or 14usd ... 3g sim card, much expensive than what i have purchased after immigration ... take note for those going !!!

I prefer to print every thing and keep in my waist pouch. Then throw when not needed anymore, only keep the master plan list.

2nd things to note ...
vinasun is white cab with green print ...
mah ling is whole green cab ...

somehow outside ben thanh market, there is a few white cab looks like vinasun, however, they are actually mah ling...

checked with my hcm uni friends, they told them they are fake cab ...
that's why got cheated ... guess no avenue to complain ...
the meter from 11.000vnd jumped to 390.000 to 450.000 to 560.00 to 660.000
in the end the cab driver told us to pay 660.000 from ben thanh to vincom ...
just remember to open ur eyes big big when taking cab ...

Not sure ... few people were caught by surprise ...
then when we purchased our sim card, we login and print screen...
the staff at the small sim card counter, was very good with english ...

many have cleared immigration, no more people there anymore in the queue, except those sitting at the visa area, or trying to connect to the internet ...

we walked towards one counter, cox they all gathered around, 12+ staff talking among themselves. we walked towards them, stand infront of the immigration counter , as most are closed, except two ... they ignored us ... until 10+seconds later, the lady staff attended to us. they just look our printscreen for 2 seconds then returned us ... not very good experience though ...

With regards to using grab ...
grab car is more expensive than grab taxi ...
would be good to flag your own cab, as there are ample taxi everywhere ...
no need to purposely use grab, have to wait few minutes though ...

airport to hotel near sinh cafe (d1 area)
we flag our own cab from outside immigration, 144.000 vnd (inclusive 10.000 airport fees)

hotel near sinh cafe (d1 area) to airport
152.000 vnd, after adding grab fee + airport fees, total is 168.000vnd

if you use the cab service from airport, perhaps price is about 10usd ...
they would go out and flag taxi for u. y nt do urself.

You could take public bus 17 from terminal 1 to long bien station and then walk to hotel. Travel time 1h 15min.

There is also a faster bus. Cannot remember the number. You can google and find out.

Just change to another immigration lane. We dont really have to show them return ticket.
