came back from my hcm trip. Some things to note:

if you r flying to hcm, land at tan son nhat airport ...
rmb to print your hardcopy itinenary or save them on your mobile phone ....

saw few singaporeans, they were there, the immigration told them ...
where is your return ticket ???
in the end, they tried to connect internet from airport, but is useless...no signal
. in the end, they have to buy a sim card to access their itinenary ...
price is 10usd or 14usd ... 3g sim card, much expensive than what i have purchased after immigration ... take note for those going !!!

I tio question before, but I can use wifi connect the internet there to log in my email.. they say female immigration customs officers tend to be more friendly though, but I never go notice

With regards to using grab ...
grab car is more expensive than grab taxi ...
would be good to flag your own cab, as there are ample taxi everywhere ...
no need to purposely use grab, have to wait few minutes though ...

airport to hotel near sinh cafe (d1 area)
we flag our own cab from outside immigration, 144.000 vnd (inclusive 10.000 airport fees)

hotel near sinh cafe (d1 area) to airport
152.000 vnd, after adding grab fee + airport fees, total is 168.000vnd

if you use the cab service from airport, perhaps price is about 10usd ...
they would go out and flag taxi for u. y nt do urself.

Why Grab, Uber is more popular and more qty in HCMC. And is definitely much cheaper than normal cab like Vinasun. Airport to D1 only 100K compared to normal cab which I paid 160k on most occasions. Short distance normal cab is fine, but further, uber definitely much cheaper.

Anyone recently been to Hanoi? What rate did you get? I want a sense if rate in HCMC is better or Hanoi is better. Where do you change? Is there equivalent of HCMC's Ha Tam/Mai Van in Hanoi where rate is better than banks? Thanks.

I went during the labour day holiday.. didn't get the customs issues you guys mentioned. In my first couple of trips, on one occasion the customs guy did ask for my return flight info. I gave i to him and no further issues.

Whenever i go on a trip, i make sure i have a digital and printed copies of my flights , including returning ones. If you forgot to print, you can approach the airline counter in changi airport to print for you.

I have been there 6th time ... no kana such issue before also ...
until few days back, when i went there ...

have observed, most of the staff actually asked people for return tickets.
few people were bounced back ... they were told to step back to resolve their issue ... some are Singaporeans ...

I gave the airline counter at changi airport my passport and they printed for me. Not the version that you received when you booked the tickets.

Ha ha... I am one of them.. riding my motor bike left, right, centre. I learnt from them.
With kids, you can visit the water park. Google Damsen Waterpark.
For food, can try Sushi Bar 54-56 Nguyễn Trãi, Zen Plaza D5. Recommended by someone here, i haven't been there.
