Yup, Binh Tay is still under renovation, dont think they'll up so soon.

Anyway, exchange rate today at the money changer inside Ben tanh market @ 16920

Doesn't make a big difference in rate unless we are doing business here. Difference is only good for 1-2 bowls of pho for me.

Can go clubbing at Bui Vien Walking Street. There are several Health Spa opposite Pullman Hotel, just 300m away from one of the entrance to Bui Vien Street.

Ya happening at Bui Vien Walking Street...heard it is a new walking street..after think 6 or 7pm, police will stop vehicles from going into that street...very happening. I like.

Ok then Ha Tam is the best moneychanger. Theres no moneychanger INSIDE benh thanh then.

There is a money changer inside Benh Thanh market. The rate there quite competitive as well, the last I saw rate slightly better than Ha Tam.

Is it safe to change so much money there? There might be robbers watching.
I'm going to change a few Ks..but worry about getting robbed.

Hi, is binh Tay still loses for renovation
Any nightlife places to recommend in HCMC? Just came in from Vung Tao.

It is under renovation, but the vendors are still there operating. Bought snacks like lotus seed, dried jackfruit and had breakfast there.

For clubs, recommended by a viet lady, she gave me this list.

- lux club
- the ballroom
- the penthouse
- glow sky bar
- air sky 360
- xoxo club

I intend to open a bank account. If i used sgd to deposit in, will i lose out compared to money changers?

Confirm lose, besides TT charges, you will also be at mercy of the banks exchange rate.

Anyway, do let us know if you're successful. Tried walking in to ACB, was told they require a 12mth Visa to open an account. Further to that, they require proof of your money entering the country with Custom receipt and all.

Safe lah...I changed 5K before, just change and go and dont show much, put in bag and leave.

I have changed 30-40K before...such amount can request they sent to home which we did. Can't get there too as they may not have so much or take too long to count and quite a lot of notes.
