i should be going to hanoi for a few days. what to do there and must do ? planning for about 5 days. anyone got itinerary to share ? or any recommendations for local day tours and must seee must buy stuffs ? hotel is settled alr.

we should change dong in vietnam for better rates ? straight sing to dong or sing-usd (change in SG ) then to dong in viet if viet has better exchange rate?

I am going next Tues to Hanoi. 6days trip. Me and my friends did not really planned any itinerary.

So far the only plans is to visit Halong Bay. Rest of the itinerary we'll plan once on the ground.

From what I have gathered in the forum, Yes. Better Dong rates in Viet. But for USD I have changed in SG.

Got some USD at 1.40

Vietnamese normally travel home to eat their lunch then have their lunch nap. They do that in order to save money. If you want to sell, I think must be super super cheap.

Let me give some advises to the currency exchange of vietnam dong, singaporean who go there, can use sgd to change at local banks and airport. Of cos bank rate better than airport, only needed usd at jewellery shop shud u want a better rate. Jewellery shop can bargain for rates. Usually better rate then banks. Remember there only accept usd. Bank accept both.

For better rates in jewel shop it is better to change with usd. Sgd is mostly not accepted in most of the jewel shop. Unless u wanna go to bank. I only got any bank that have the word starting with viet.

if i rem correctly, the chinese ( china ) also does tht....from 11am till abt 2pm....almost impossible to call anyone.....either home for lunch or nap....or just own free time...

In Hanoi n HCMC, u can change SGD, USD,.. I have changed countless of times.

Bought some weasel coffee back to SG, but forgot to buy the filter!
